I have just installed GameEx as my FE for mame and so far I'm loving the simplicity of it. I fairly new at this so if you're lol go ahead, but my problems is how do I setup Microsoft PC as an emulator to load my PC games from the computer. I point it to my games directory and it tells me there are no games which of course there are. I am missing something so I'm asking for some help since I've been chasing my tail and getting no where fast. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Welcome! There are several different ways you can go about it. If you have games from Steam, Ubisoft (Uplay) or EA (Origin) you can go to the Online Game Services section of the Setup Wizard and let GameEx do the heavy lifting. Otherwise, for all other games, you will need to setup an emulator space for your PC Games and use *lnk as your ROM filter. Refer to this thread. You will need to copy all of your game shortcut files to a common folder and point the ROM path to it.

or you can specify the executable directly instead of pointing to a shortcut. I put in (name of specific game).exe in the rom filter with setting the working path. it works pretty well for me. I also set my PC games in an emulator group so it shows "PC Games" in the main menu with the list of my computer games.

my only problem now is it only flashes the custom background instead of leaving it on screen. i end up with a black screen and "borderlands 2" on screen. but i digress and thats a separate problem for a separate thread.

Thank you for your feedback, just wanted to let you know I now have my PC games up and working with GameEx. I was overthinking the problem it would never have occurred to me that all I needed was shortcuts. Well, that's why it pays to go to the experts, thanks again. GameEx is turning out to be an awesome FE and I'm looking forward to learning how to use all of it's capabilities. :) :) :) :) :)
