eXo
Alright, so I've been messing with this for hours...I got Mess to run with my 2600 roms, no problem, using the cofig.txt file in the config forum.I followed the exact same instructions for the 8800 and 5200, but these always kick back to GameEx, and nothing ever starts.I ran it in debug mode and the command line looks fine.I can also run the roms from the Mess gui alright. So I know the bios files and such are all there. Currently my 5200 command line is:mess.exe a5200 -cart [rompath]\[romfile]The jaguar is doing the same thing as well. headkaze
Have you tried running a command prompt and getting a ROM to load manually by typing it in? It might give you an idea of what is going wrong.
Adultery
I had problems with mess for a little while also, so I tried using MESS through the messgui.exe - messgui.exe a7800 -cart "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" -joy -now -nonewuimessgui.exe a5200 -cart "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" -joy -now -nonewuiWorks like a dream. You should give Virtual Jaguar a throw before you commit to using MESS for Jag emulation. Seems to be alot less complicated and a smidge more accurate.Hope that helps. eXo
I will definatly try Virtual Jaguar.I managed to get my 2600 and 5200 roms going, but Mess is telling me that my 7800 bios is failing it's crc check. I have downloaded the bios from several different sites, which makes me think the newest build could possibly be checking the bios rom imporperly. Any experience with that? eXo
ok, so I've tried virtual jaguar and I'm not sure whats goin on.When I load it up if I click video or audio options, nothing happensI figured out I had to load a rom then hit the reset key - is there a command line way to boot directly to the game? Also, once I get a game going to audio stutters horribly - without access to the audio options, is there any fix there? Is it true that the newer versions of Project Tempest don't allow command line exeuction? That would be a real shame since it runs the roms so clean. No audio stutter or anything. Plus it's a LOT easier to set up the controls for that one. Plus it's a LOT easier to set up the controls for that one.I haven't had to load ROMs that way (use reset and all). All I have in the command line is this:vj.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"Seems to run about 75% of my ROMS. As far as the .cfg goes:# Jaguar BIOS options: 1 - use, 0 - don't useuseJaguarBIOS = 0# Display options: 1 - fullscreen, 0 - windowedfullscreen = 1# OpenGL options: 1 - use OpenGL rendering, 0 - use old style renderinguseOpenGL = 1#useOpenGL = 0These are the settings that work for me. Give that a try. Hope that helps!

eXo
Well, even if I get virtual jaguar up and running, I still have to deal with the audio stuttering.I haven't had any trouble with the actual BIOS - Have you downloaded the original system BIOS and placed it in the bios folder within the MESS root folder?ya, I've tried this. The emulator will load the atari screen, but it just hangs there. Under uadit, in MESS, it tells me there is a CRC check error. I've had the same error on 4 different bios's downloaded from 4 seperate websites.
