I have the Exit button hooked up to pullup the pause menu (Exit Game, Return to Game, Flyers, Info) but when I select Return to Game (and press Start button) it goes back to the menu.

Is that a config issue? on pinballx or perhaps vp?

Have you tested this outside of GameEx by trying VP directly? When reporting a possible bug or error, please submit a copy of the following files so we may quickly assist you: pinballx.ini and log.txt (Click here for additional information on how to find these files and others that may be required).

Not sure how to test this outside of Pinballx - isnt Return to Game simply supposed to close the menu and return to the game?

Using just VP, the exit button does nothing.

In Pinballx - I can press Exit Button,

select flyer - see the flyer, press Start, it returns to pause menu.

Select Instructions, press Start, shows then press start, returns to pause menu.

Select Exit Game, press start button, Exists game &- returns to *Games Menu* (Correct)

If I

Select Return to Game - it Exits Game and returns to Games menu (Wrong)

log file contains a nasty error

I took out my killb2s (a script to pskill the old B2S stuff) .. just to clean up the logs.

Attached is the log -- still with no Return to Game.. but clean of the errors in the log.

So this is start pinball, select game

wait

press Exit button show instructions,

show flyers,

select return to game.

I had to override the default keys in vpinmame - i was noticing that the exit button would shut down the emulator even when I was simply in visual pinball.exe. By overriding the default buttons for vpinmame (inside of visual pinball preferences) i was able to make it such that pinballx controlled the exit button entirely. Seems to be working so far.
