PinballX 2.6.2

Visual Pinball 9.9.0

I am having similar problems as the OP but mine doesn't crash to the desk top, but back to PinballX.

This doesn't happen on every game but Star Trek Next Gen & Medieval Madness. There is no particular length of time for it to crash.

This all started around 2 weeks ago when I a, upgraded PinballX & upgraded Visual Pinball.

Both games play fine if run directly in VP.

Is it possible to go back to an older version of PinballX to test out.

Lastly, why do we have to upgrade PinballX, twice I have been forced to upgrade & too be honest I have had a perfectly good working system that I didn't want to upgrade?

Hi Steve,

I took the liberty of splitting your post from the other as you are, so far, not reporting quite the same issue as he was. You don't have to upgrade to the latest but it is encouraged due to additional functionality, bug fixes, etc. The Owner/Author does not encourage reverting back to an older version for this reason and does not archive them for download.

When reporting a possible bug or error, please submit a copy of the following files so we may quickly assist you - pinballx.ini and log.txt (Click here for additional information on how to find these files and others that may be required). Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in replying. Attached the two requested files.

I've found twice now with PinballX that I had to upgrade as the software refused to work until done so?

It would be nice to go back a version or two to check out. Hopefully the logs will give you some more info on my problem.

Have you tried temporally disabling all but one system and seeing if behavior is different?

For example, disable FP, plus everything else and just leave Visual Pinball enabled as a starting point since you mention Visual Pinball 9.9.0

Is the behavior different after doing that?

Does VP and tables load/work correctly outside of PinballX?

Spent this afternoon trying out...

Yes, did that, nothing else running except VP, disabled FB & the ledwiz bat program.

No :-(

Yes all good with the tables outside PinballX.

Is there a link to the PinballX version around 2 updates back, sorry I don't keep up on the version numbers. But the first PinballX I installed ever worked a charm & I only upgraded it because I had too.

This crashing to the desktop begun on this next version but was infrequent, where as now with certain tables it's guaranteed somewhere during the game.

Locking this thread as issue may be resolved by the release of version 1.93. Please download and install this version and report back in a new thread with the requisite .ini and log files. Thanks!
