[ABANDONED] Turned off Group, Now most other listings are gone

I started with a Start Screen that showed:

MAME

NES

SNES

NIN64

ETC

I was setting up psx.

Upon loading, it came up as "pinball" underneath several other emus.

MAME

NES

PINBALL

SNES

ETC

I noticed that I had an emulator group I no longer use named pinball and psx's emu number was listed as part of the group. I cleared the emu numbers from the group and disabled the group. Now, the view that I usually use only shows MAME and no emu's.

MAME

If I change views, the others will show up,

MAME SNES PSX ETC

but I prefer the old view. I tried setting the group back to how it was , but no go. I have no other groups set. ANy ideas?

Hi - If you don't mind, please provide copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt (Click here for additional information on how to find these files and others that may be required). Also, will be good to know if you are using custom menus. Thanks!

Crud. I just realized that I sent you a config with settings I was testing. I have an emu group set up containing all emus. I will edit my post and re up the config

Actually, it just occurred to me that the info would be the same except with the enable group box unticked. If you want me to re-up, please let me know.

I give up. I'm going to just use custom menus. Thanks though.

Sorry to see that you are giving up so quickly since you just reported the issue yesterday. Sometimes our answers are not going to be the same day as the request for assistance as we, like you, have "real life" concerns to address in addition to trying to be of help to everyone else that reports an issue.

If you would like to continue to pursue assistance for this issue, let us know. If not, I will leave this thread open for a few more days then lock it accordingly if we receive no further response or if you note that you are going to continue with your other course of action.

I agree with Draco here - there may be an underlying problem as to why your menu's aren't displaying as expected, and it would be a good move to try and get it sorted. But at the same time i am huge fan of Custom Menu's and believe it's one the best hidden gems of GameEx It's your call at this point

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I suppose I felt that things were getting real sticky with the automated menu geatures of GameEx. Besides, I'm sure you both know what it's like to have your head into something!

It's np and don't feel you need to justify yourself. We've all been in the same situation at some point. Just know that we will always give advice should you require it.
