Command Line Works, MCE GAmeEx doesn't

Hi,

I am able to run and play games by running the Mame32 program from explorer and everything is fine.

When I go to MCE2005 and try, I am able to select the game, select "Play This Game" and the screen goes black for about 5 seconds and then returns to the "Play This Game / View Controls" screen. The jukebox music fades out and in during this.

Any ideas?

For me or aynone else to help you with such an issue (like a lot of other problems people have), yourll need to post the log and configuration files. There in the start menu program group

I get the same error when running every mame rom that I have. I'm using Mame32 and when I run by itself, the roms load fine but under MCE2005, I get a black screen and get taken back to the Gameex screen or the rom test screen gets loaded. I'm uploading my log file for info.

I think your probably running an old version of MAME32 that does not support the command line options that GameEx has as default.

What version of MAME32 are you running?

Try removing the command line options under Advance MAME settings.

or

Get a newer version of MAME32

or

try the command line only version from http://mame.net

I installed the latest version of MAME32 and reset all the config's back to default and it works fine now. Thanks for the help.
