I cant seem to update game list using MameUI64, just hangs even left it run all night but to no avail any advice?

Which version are you using? And does it happen to hang at the "C" games?

im using the 154 buld I got it working there was a windows dialogue box popping up on the background (mame audit info) on which after pressing OK the list was created only thing is just over 2000 games seem to be supported with this build although games that play in mameui tron etc dont appear on my gameex list???

I just switched back to mamue32 and now only 78 games show??

Did you run Update List from the MAME menu after you switched back?

Yes ran it twice very quickly and only 78 games I'm issuing something simple. Mame shows over 5000 games in the available filter

Could you post your GameEx.ini please, found in ...GameEx\CONFIG.

Run GameEx in a window for a moment. Update List. After GameEx gets so far, MAMEUI64 pops up a dialog box reporting how many roms it found.. You have to click the OK button to allow GameEx to resume.

A way around this is to turn off Verify Roms in the setup wizard.

Hope that helps. I noticed this the other day when I was updating my own romlist.

ok seem to have got it working, turned vfy roms off while im here could someone help with cple more things, I used to know this stuff like the back of my hand but I sure am rusty

1. when I press tab video options are not there so I cant enable artwork, bezzles etc

2. still getting the press OK warnings although im sure there set to be off in gameex and mame

Not sure about #1 but #2 is because you are running a "vanilla" mame build. Likely you will need to compile your own mame build using hiscore.diff file as mentioned here.

As for the prompts. Sounds like this is just a windows thing? It does not like running programs from network drives etc.

Still cant get the video option with the tab key but now some games are not launching although they run in mame posted a part of the log file if that helps anyone help me lol this is killing me

Not sure why people bother with the UI version of MAME if your Front End is GameEX. You don't need a built-in UI into the executable because GameEX is your Front End

Use baseline MAME from mamedev.org or use UME that Haze puts on his site.
