I have just setup my Gamex frontend and setup both the integrated and standalone MAME. (Only just found out there was a difference, thanks Forum).

The integrated MAME shows 26 out of the available 56 games with the correct titles but the standalone MAME emulator shows all the games but with the file names.

Does anyone have any idea why the integrated MAME doesn't show all of my games???

I have deleted the gamelist file and updated the games list through Gamex but I still can't see all 56 games.

I have also tested these games and they all work with the standalone MAME.

Both MAME setups reference the same rom directory and MAME.exe file.

Hi there dalob and welcome to the forum :)

There are a few options in MAME Settings that will influence what appears on your list. I suspect what you're seeing are clones. If you can't see the rom versions in your list try changing (in Setup Wizard> Custom> MAME Settings, scroll down):

No Bracketed Text = No

Update List and you should now see the rom versions in brackets like so:

1944: The Loop Master (USA 000620) <-Parent

1944: The Loop Master (Japan 000620) <-Clone

1944: The Loop Master (USA 000620 Phoenix Edition) <-Clone

If this is what you're seeing and you don't want to display clones change No Clones = I don't want Clones

If however you are seeing this:

1944: The Loop Master (USA 000620)

1944: The Loop Master (USA 000620)

1944: The Loop Master (USA 000620)

Then well, we'll cross that bridge if it comes to it

Thanks Draco1962.

I do see the various versions so I must be seeing clones. Will change the setting and see how it goes. GameEx is such a flexible piece of software, taking a while to get my head around all the settings. Have tried a couple of other front ends but I think this one is the one I will stick with.
