not a gameex problem but thought someone here could help. was running mame 144 had all roms and chd files and everything worked, I updated my cabnet to win7 64 and decided to update mame to 153.

I have the full set of roms and chd's and the folders are all the same as 144 directories ect. game ex updates game list with no problems, regular games run fine but chds look like they are going to start but it closes and goes back to play this game page? so I tried a non compiled mame64ui and updated rom list and that seemed to work ( showed like 29000 roms) if I try to run area 51 or say carnevil I get an error cant find the chd files ect. but they are there? if in mame64ui I right click on that game properties and audit no error. has something changed in mame since 144 like directory tree or something that I am overlooking? I know some of the chds are converted to type 5?

thanks

I'd try the romcenter program. You may need to do some reconnecting of files. I had quite a few of my roms have missing files when I updated to .153. Once you run the romcenter program on your main rom files, it'll show you what files are missing. Then Google May or May not be your best friend.

My guess would be a RomPath issue. Make sure that both of your paths are defined in GameEX. I believe that the two paths are separated by a semi-colon. EG: C:\Mame\roms;C:\Mame\chds

If not, verify your setup using the setup wizard. Otherwise, Post Your Log.
