Hello... I am having some trouble with the model 2 option in GAMEEX. It starts to run but picks the wrong game (i.e. I choose House of the Dead and it tries to run F1 racing) and for some reason it bails saying video subsystem failed. Any suggestions?

I think the problem is when the windows desktop is running at a resolution below 800 X 600. Would that be true in your case?

I think the emulator is also very picky about graphics cards and version of windows. The emulator is only an alpha release. It's not going to work for everyone.

Hi Tom,

I'm having this problem too. My arcade monitor only supports 640x480, am I S.O.L?

I think I'll be able to get it pick the right game, but are you getting the video errors two? Maybe it doesn't like ArcadeVGA cards?

Sorry, don't know what S.O.L. means, only figured out LOL in 2001 :)

Hey Tom

Heh S.O.L. means Shit Outta' Luck :)

I'm having video problems too. When I launch the games within the M2 emulator, they work fine. Through GameEx I get a black screen, but sound. Also the ESC key will not return me back, I have to end the M2 process.

I am using Arcade VGA also.

I was having the same problem too, I could not get the "exe" files to work at all.

What I did was use the AutoITv3 scripts (download in the config section), but they selected the wrong game. You need to edit each script with the correct cursor position coordinates based on your monitor font\resolution. There is a script included called "`get mouse postion.au3", which you need to run for each game, note the cursor position, then edit each game au3 script with the new values. Now all the games select and run perfectly. Remember you need to have AutoITv3 installed to use and edit the scripts. I also had a problem with the emulator exiting back to GameEX (I didn't what to have to hit AltF4), so what I also did is add in a advanced emulator ini sending AltF4 when ESC is hit. Now everything runs perfectly smooth. I am running gameEX 5.88 btw, don't know if things are different in 5.92

The problem should be fixed in the next release, and GameEx does detect the escape key for the emulator. The issue is that the mouse positions are different if using a low resolution. It does use an AutoIt script, and I used I think your scripts as a starting point. Thanks so much for that.

hi tom,

i've seen that you put a model2 feature in the newest release of gameex. that means you don't need my scripts anymore.

the problem what the people a talking about, that the script is using the wrong game is something better in my script version.

i use an ini file with the coordinates from each game, if anybody has such a problem, he can trimm the coordinates for his resulation and edit the ini file.

Hi Syntaxer, yes thanks for that.

All, the resolution problem was fixed in the last release.
