GameEx exit mame screen flash problem

Hi

I am having a problem with the latest GameEx - when I exit from MAME the screen starts flashing. Every 2 seconds the screen goes blank and while blank input is not processed for about 1 second, then it comes back again. The log file says 'Mouse input is disabled' every time it does this.

I have a older copy of GameEx on the same machine which does not have this problem. It doesn't matter if I use a new ini file or I take the ini file from the older working copy of GameEx. It also doesn't matter if I use a new copy of MAME or the same one used by the working installation.

If during the 2 seconds I select a new game, the system plays the game fine. It's only when I go back to GameEx does the screen start flashing again.

Any help appreciated.

I've realised what's wrong. VNC appears to be somehow incompatible with the latest GameEx. :-(

Strange that the old GameEx doesn't have a problem - maybe it's something fixable?
