[PLUGIN] Game Tagger

Adultery

Recommended Posts

Adultery - probably something doing my end, but not sure my "Most played" and "history" are working. Downloaded latest plugin from OP - played a few games, but not registering on my tag page. Just to report back...

Oh, P.s. On the "Social Media" links - how about an "Own Website" option?

:)

Can I have a look at your game tagger log file after you launch a game or two?

@ your PS: Yeah, that is probably doable. ;)

Evenin' Adultery..

Basic Q: where does GameTagger pull all its variables from (e.g. Publisher, Developer etc..) - ya know, the ones that you can dynamically use in the xml??

The GE Folder .db3 files or the online database?

As per this topic here:

http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/14723-database-developerpublisher-names/?p=125649

Many thanks and tootle pip.

  • 3 weeks later...

Have you tried changing the name to match?

Yeah that setting is in your control panel.

As usual i didn't explain clear enough :P I set my HS details in the User CP before posting. I always try everything best to my knowledge before i bother you ;) My name in the HS database is DazzleHP, my Tagger name is ShmupperFromHell, i pointed it out because i thought this might be why it works for Dennis on not for me. I tried as Draco suggested and change my HS details to match my Tagger name but as suspected no change - ShmupperFromHell doesn't exist in the HS database :)

Was there an extra step i missed other than entering my Username in the Hi-Score section? I know i can be blind at times :D

Might be something in code I'll have to look into.

It is working for me though... Try a hard refresh of your browser if you haven't already.

Nm, it's a bug in the code. I set my name to yours and it shows my scores. I'll fix it tomorrow.

I did some work on the site, and now you can expand/collapse your hi-score and history data. This should make it easier to see things on a mobile device, since you only see the things you want to see. If you try it, make sure you do a hard refresh on your browser to get the new css code, and you'll need javascript enabled. I have tested this is Firefox, IE, and Chrome, and all seems to be working great on my end.

You can view this feature on both the user's tag page and the user control panel.

There will also be an update coming for the plugin that fixes Steam games not appearing in your history, and some issues with the GameEx database for Zip/7zip/RAR games not getting the proper play count/last played/favorites data.

Updated plugin to 1.0.8!

  • Fixed bug where game tag was not updating when GameEx logs off
  • Fixed bug where Steam games were not being added to the user's history due to a GameEx DB reader bug
  • Fixed incorrect GameEx Database play counts/favorites/last played data for games in Zip/7-Zip/Rar
  • Fixed a bug where tag was incorrect if a user exited GameEx without playing any games
  • Other code tweaks and fixes I forgot about

The game tag not updating on logoff was a pain in my butt for some time, but I finally figured that out. I also fixed where it wasn't uploading if you exited GameEx via GameEx Online. I also updated the first post with a more recent snap of the configuration window. I now use the online title screen in the tag if you launch GameEx, don't play anything, and then exit... So theoretically everything should be working fine now.

On the site side (besides the toggle I added and mentioned before), I fixed the improper play count function, and fixed a bug where single quotes were being stripped out of the game data. Next, I'll probably work on the configuration side of things, and on the site I will finally hook in the ability to upload game tag themes if any of you artistic types wants to get involved in that. I think I'm almost ready to take it public, thanks to everyone who helped with the testing.

Feel free to download it from the first post, or get it from the Game Tagger website.

Thanks everyone! :)
