I have played my share of penny ante poker with lots of beer and my only fear was passing out only to wake up to find my hand in a warm cup of water and my pants wet or my eyebrow shaved off. For as "advanced" as our nation thinks it is, it isn't.

The topic of revival arcades is an interesting one. I put one on the map in London (HOG) - they basically snapped up all of the arcade machines when that massive one in (Leicester) Square closed. I remember going in there - it was like the weatherspoons of arcades. There's some articles against the HOG entry.

My fondest: being 8 on holiday in wales. Small village - parents drinking, me and a mate found a back room arcade room - must have only been 5 games in there. But.. one was Spy Hunter - running into the pub every 30 minutes - "can I have another 50p?"

it's courageous and dare i say i little crazy................

PS: this is open to UK too?

If you dare say it, I dare be it, Dazzle. And yes, open to all! This region thing keeps coming up... maybe I need to rewrite something somewhere. Dazzle - get yer pin on! There's no other UK builders on there yet.... do the side proud ;)

Do you want to know the locations of establishments that have pinball machines and arcade cabinets? At first I thought it was just a pinmap for identifying where people live that are members here. I could easily list off about 4 places that have some. A pizza joint around the corner has a Roller Coaster Tycoon pinball machine, there's a Chuck-E-Cheeses further down the road and a Dave and Busters about 2 miles north of where I live. Also, there's always a "mini-arcade" inside movie theaters and bowling alleys. I know of 2 around where I live that have some games. Plus, since you guys started talking about fruit machines, we have 2 casinos locally here that have tons of slot machines; they're kinda arcady. Let me know if you would like me to add them. I haven't been to the Chuck-E-Cheeses or Dave and Busters or the Bowling Alley to see what they have, but I could at least pin the location.

I think it would be awesome if somebody close by where I live would come forward that makes cabinets/pincabs. We could become buddies for life and make/sell them! :)

If you think they would be of interest to others, Hans then definitely add them!!

..and that is one of the main ideas of this :D Found out a while ago that there's a fella who lives 15 miles away who makes them too....in...some...forum...post..I..read...once. Can I remember which post/forum!? No. However, a map of builders, you say?....

I went ahead and moved this to the User Projects subforum. While not a direct GameEx project per se`, I think that it may eventually provide more useful information for users looking for builders and historical info in their area as more data is added. I hope that everyone will get behind this project and continue to add info to the site and commend Stigzler for his efforts!

I think you need to expand the categories to include Pinball Machines, Arcade Machines (both have a different definition than PinCab and Arcade Cab). Also, can you please change my personal entry to System Builder - Hobbyist? Thanks!
