Hi!

I have bought gameex last year and after configuring it I didn't use it for some months.

When i came back to play some games. I have got the following problem. In gameex

mouse over is recognized as a mouse click. That means as soon as I move the mouse

pointer over any interactive element, this element is clicked automatically.

My mouse is working normally in any other application and in windows,

this just happens in gameex.

I already reinstalled gameex, but this didn't change anything.

Do you have any ideas what this could cause the problem?

regerds,

michael

Hi Michael and welcome to the forums!

Do you have touchscreen support enabled? If you do, and you intended to enable it you may want to change the "Click mode". See if that remedies it. If you didn't want it enabled and you want to check if it is you can find it by launching the Setup Wizard> Touchscreen/Tablet Settings> Enable=No. You can also change the click mode on the same screen if you intended to enable it :)

Of course don't hesitate to shout back if i'm way off the mark here! ;)

Hi DazzleHP!

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately touchscreen support is already disabled.

I tried to activate it, but this didn't help in anyway. So I deactivated again.

If you have any other tipp ...

Ok a couple of questions:

Are you using a laptop?

Is the mouse your only form of navigation? IE do you have any other input devices that emulate a mouse, or even two mouses (or is it mice?! )

You can disable mouse input entirely if you don't use it to navigate GameEx. Launch the Setup Wizard> Input Settings> Disable Mouse. Change it to Yes Disable Mouse Input.

Hi!

I tried to quit the logitech gaming software and disconnect the external keyboard and mouse.

I even checked if there is any mouse or keyboard software running as a service, nothing found.

This didn't change anything.

Ok, so after sifting through monumental piles of crap that is the microsoft community i found this snippet of info that might be helpful to you:

I've been infuriated by Windows 8's mouse Hover action too, but I found that although Hover is on by default, the tick box for "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse" in Control Panel>Ease of Access>Ease of Access Centre>Make the Mouse Easier to Use was unticked.

After puzzling over this I decided I had nothing to lose, so I ticked the box, clicked "Apply" and "OK" and closed the window. It seemed to have disabled Hover.

I then went back in and unticked the box. Hover is still disabled, and my mouse is docile and well behaved. I hope this is a permanent fix. If it is, I wonder why Microsoft didn't know?

I don't have w8 which is why i had to endure the MS community site :P it also means i can't test this but a few people seem to think it fixes this auto-clicking problem. [source]

Dam ok - tbh this is the first time i've seen a problem like this, although i've only been here a couple of years. The only other thing i can personally suggest is updating your mouse and trackpad drivers and the latest directx. Maybe one of our wiser members or w8 users have an idea?

Hi!

No change, I tried to activate and deactivate it. In both modes it didn't work.

regards,

After deactivating it, did you restart the computer? That is sometimes required in order for changes to stick.

Hi!

Thank you ShmupperFromHell for your support.

Compatibility mode and deleting gameex.ini didn't help.

So, I think I just don't use gameex :-(

Well darn, I'm sorry to hear about your continuing struggle with this. Just out of curiosity have you tried disabling the trackpad on your laptop? I've never run into this specific problem, but I have encountered weird "competing mice" issues occasionally on laptops in which the trackpad reacts strangely to external mice.
