I'm having a real difficult time getting the mame32 games list to build inside of GameEx.

As suggested in the F.A.Q., I disabled all of the filters, flags, etc. that might be sifting some out. I even tried unzipping some to see if that would do it.. no avail.

I have the folder pathing correct and I can play the games just fine in the MAME32 client.

I got the other emulators working great! This is just the last step.

I've tried many different combinations of settings, but when I rebuild the list.. no games are found.

Sorry for such a dumb question... the solution is probably right in my face.

Thanks,

Marc

Thanks for your reply Neil.

Are you talking about the "Update Games List" menu option? I do have that, and execute it after every configuration change. It goes throught the update, builds the game list, etc.. but then no games are found.

You must have the config looking at the wrong place. Since  the games work if you only run mame32. Double check the config. Hope that helps.  :D

Thanks for the response.

I've double and tripple checked the pathing, and everything is pointing to the right directory. If I were to attach my gameex.ini, would someone mind looking at it for me?

don't know if its relevant, but i had a hell of a time getting mame working on my second install.

Seems it doesn't seem to like running from the root of a drive?

just my tuppence worth..

Very interesting.. I am in fact running it from the root (C:\mame32\).

I'll try to move it around and see what happens and I'll post my ini here if it doesn't work.

Still nothing.. moved it from C:\mame32\* to C:\games\mame32\* and changed the gameex.ini to match.

I have attached both my gameex.txt (renamed for attachment) and structure.txt (listing of my mame32 directory and contents).

I hope someone can help with this.. it's just boggling my mind why it's not finding anything.

Assumptions:

1. I can view and play all the games that are located in my mame32\roms\ directory from mame32 without a problem.

2. The other emulators are working fine (snes and nes)

3. I have selected "Update Game List" after each attempt to modify the gameex.ini

4. I have disabled all the filters that I've been able to find in the config.

Thanks for all the help thus far.. it's so close! Btw.. I did donate, this program is definately worth it.

The version of MAME32 your using is over 3 years old and not supported by GameEx. Get a newer version.

That solved the problem.. I guess that should teach me for pulling down a way outdated version.

Sorry for all the trouble and thanks for the help!
