I have a mame cabinet I built with an LCD screen running the registered version of Gameex..

my kids love to play the oldies on mame but they keep pausing the game and forget to come back.

I think this might be starting to cause some screen burn in.

How do I make it so the screensaver comes up when mame is paused?

I don't think that it possible. There is a setting 'Auto Exit Games After' allows GameEx to exit a game after a set period of time. Perhaps you could use that, and then the screensaver would kick in after return to GameEx.

@Greg (or anyone else that might find this useful) - I came across this and there are a few suggestions that might help rid you of the burn-in on your LCD monitor. I would give Tempest's suggestion a go to help mitigate it occuring again when the kiddos forget to return.

I'm with Tempest on this, just for simplicity and should do exactly what you want ;) Just enable the "Auto Exit". To find it launch Setup Wizard> Enable/Disable Features> Auto Exit Games After (near the bottom). I personally would choose something like 20 mins, kids have short attention spans - if they ain't back playing within 20 mins then they probably have found some other interest ^_^ By setting this option GameEx will watch for a certain time, if no input is pressed it will quit whatever Emu is loaded. Pair this option with the MAME screensaver and within 22 mins your cab will running the MAME demo (using my 20min cut off as an example) :)

Fantastic! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Fortunately I don't think I have any permanent burn in yet and this should keep it that way.
