Draco1962
Did you use the default Windows drivers for your new GPU or download/install the latest from the manufacturer's site?
Frankybabes
I downloaded the latest driver from AMD site
DazzleHP
Did you upgrade from a DX9 GPU to a DX10/11 by any chance? I did just a couple of months ago and experienced major crashes on lots of 3d/GPU intensive programs. I fixed it by first removing all GPU drivers. It's important to remove them first. If you can, use third party software to remove all traces. THEN install the drivers for your respective GPU.
nullPointer
I would definitely second Dazz's comments and add that I have found it preferable to download drivers from the manufacturer of the video card rather than Nvidia or AMD (unless either of those actually was the manufacturer). So for instance even though I have an Nvidia GTX 460 I always download the drivers directly from EVGA since they were the manufacturer of my card.
