PinballX doesnt recognize inputs

Vinthar - please post your pinballx.ini and log.txt files again after your upgrade to version 1.75. Your previous files were from 1.74. Thanks!

I had to install it one more time.

This time I installed to default location c:/ and just clicked "next" in setup not bothering to change default keys and paths.

Alt+Tab seems to work now... so I can minimalize with Alt+tab - this was not working with 174... nothing else changed - cursor still visable all the time and keybord (excluding alt+tab) does not work

You do need 32 bit codecs for PinballX even though they play in windows did you install Shark 32 bit version?

Have you maybe got a device that has a key or button held down? Have you tried unplugging all gamepads etc?

Yes, I installed both - 32 "base" and 64 bit "extension".

They may not be visable in dxdiag log becouse this instalation did not helped so I uinstalled this shark package (dont want to make my system havier with no need). I am not programmer so I don't know for sure - but it doesn't seems like this problem is anyway related with codecs.

As mentioned I have wireless x360 controller. I didn't try to uninstall its driver and would prefer not to - it has no conflict with any other software I use. And its usuallu "unactive" - I turn it on only when playing some games...

If you want me to try something on my cab I can, but I'm seeing the same issue ONLY with unity3d, all other emulators work with no issues (VP, FP, FP-BAM, PBFX2). I tried both 174 and 175. Only 'Q' and 'Alt-Tab' work on the keyboard and I know the table is starting because I can here the startup sounds and the Vishay DMD is active. Using rocky's focus script doesn't solve the issue.

Hello,
i have the same problem, i can't use any keyboard attached to my PC while using PinnballX, i can use a XBOX360 controller to use PinnballX but that is no option.
I have installed the latest PinnballX and the latest Flash and the latest shark codecs.
I have a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard, a bluetooth mini keyboard and a Tankstick. I disconnected them and used one keyboad at the time with no luck.
Anybody out there who solved the issue? I really want to use PinnbalX, if i should provide more information i'll do.

Just tried latest ver of PinballX and still the same shit - keyboard does not work inside fronted... well, alt+ctrl+del works allowing me to kill app, but input are not recognized by program. I have like 300 steam games installed, few different emulators, office and utility programs... guess I have like 400-450 programs on my computer and this fronted is the only one not working correctly... what leads me to conclusion my system/rig is ok and problem is on frontend side. Any ideas how to fix this?!

Have you upgraded to the latest version of PinballX and tried what I have suggested to Vinthar? If not, please do so and submit the pinbalx.ini and log.txt files.

I don't know how to fix it but providing your support files would be a step in the right direction.

You also did not confirm if you followed my previous advice. That was unplugging all devices.

I don't think this is something I am going to be able to fix in an update. So you will need to put in some effort yourself to have any kind of luck.

I've never seen this issue throughout countless cabinets, PCs and operating systems so unless I can replicate it its difficult to help. That is the programming aspect of it. So we have to troubleshoot it. Things like fresh installs, removing devices etc are necessary.

@ Draco 1962: I instaled LAV codecs. It didn't help. I am not surprised. I don't have any problem with media files, videos and sounds are displplayed/played correctly under frontend. Keyboard is not responding. Please explain me what audio or video codecs can have to do with non working keyboard imput? Anyway, I installed LAV and there is no difference, still nothing.

Just my 2c, but being pissy with people isn't gonna fix it any faster. Please keep your posts a little more constructive. Draco was trying to help you.

Tom asked you a question, can you please verify you tried his suggestions?

I have it on a VM and my keyboard works fine.

Also, please use the PinballX Support File Data tags for the log.txt and pinballx.ini files and, anything large like the DxDiag, upload and attach to your replies. Click on the PinballX How to ask for help link in my signature or here for instructions on how to perform this task.

Many of us try to respond on the fly via smartphone and your thoughtfulness helps us to help you.

Also, two or three people over the course of a year does not necessarily make this a PinballX issue, at least directly. It could be a conflict with something in your setup overall. That said, if a solution is found for one, it may not be applicable to all impacted.

I delivered as much information as I could. My first post in this topic is from February 2014. I tried EVERYTHING excluding full system re-installation (I am not gonna do this). I tried to unplug other devices. I tried different keyboards (x-box controller works fine under pinballX; but I need keyboard). In past year I installed pinballx few times hoping it finally start working for me. How I mentioned this fronted is the only one from 400+ programs that does not work correctly. Hyperspin, Hyperpin, Mala and few other frontends works with no problem. I am also not only one with this problem. I understand this issue is not common. I really wanted to try pinballX - but I guess it's just not for me. There is nothing more I can do on my end to check more things or provide more information. I can only hope that someday devs figure this out and fix. Sorry, being rude was not my intention. I am just kind of disappointed I still can't run it and give it a try. Guess I stucked with Hyperpin.
