Thought i'd open a can of worms :)

Gotta say that one of my favourite ones is Sensible Soccer on the genesis, love it! Fast & furious.

Other obvious one is Soul Calibur on the DC.

Unfortunately Marvel vs Capcom doesn't work with the GameEx front end, but luckaly another personal fave, Street Fighter Alpha 3, does work.

My 4 year old son loves Goof Troop (SNES), Bomberman (NEOGEO) and Penguin Wars (MAME).

ohh damn there are so many for my sake the games i hold most dear are older generations games like the C64 i guess its becouse i had that and used more time on it than any other machine even i owned quite a few in those years ...

if i should mention others like arcade i would say the old vector game star wars i did put Alot of coins in that machine and was nearly on every high score spot :P

now i have it in mame but rarely play it its just a personal thing the memories it bring back when i start it not so much the game today :)

the first consule there really stunned me was PSX the only consules i had was the atari 2600 and phillips g7000 (there was collection dust in the basement) so it really did blow me away at that time becouse i still played on my C64 and amiga :)

i never knew there was a SegaCD if i had known about it it would really have been a hit for my taste as well now i only play the games but not with the childhood feeling even the games are great on it like : snatcher, Vay, Shining Force, Dune (movie and speech wasent on the amiga version)

all in all i dont have as much spare time as i had as kid but the feeling are still there but now im just trying most emulators to see what i did miss in the 80`s 90`s

i could easly make a top 10 list but i wouldnt know what to put there becouse i have so many favorites.....

tho i must say arcade (MAME) comes in last place for me ....

Good news Peter;

'Marvel vs Capcom' & 'Marvel vs Capcom Clash Of Super Heroes' can be emulated on the dreamcast, supposed to work very well.

Might be worth tracking it down.

Thanks for the Marvel vs Capcom tip, Amos. Still would be nice if the GameEx would be able to fix this :) Just found out that Salamander 2 isn't showing up either...

This tells how much I like the GameEx front end though, even with a couple of my favorite games not showing up, I keep using it!

I especially like the fact that I can put my kids (or my 30+ year old friends for that matter  ) behind me arcade cabinet without having to be afraid that they mess up the WXP config.

In the Arcades, Dragons Lair, Space Ace (could complete both on one coin at the age of 10), Dig Dug and Mr Do got most of my pocket money. Later Smash TV took a lot of my money.

Paradroid on the C64 used to keep me awake at night, and later Super Mario Bros on the NES was just so much fun when it first came out.

As the username says,

RYGAR is it for me.

Surprised that no one has mentioned Ghosts n Goblins or Galaga. They were and are pretty much the sought after ones.

I forgot 1942 comes as a very close second for me.

Great topic starter and even better being able to see what everyone elses favs are.

Good one.

Agree on Paradroid, and the Amiga version was the one I remember playing. But I have some favourite C64 games, like Great Escape, Wizball, Last Ninja, The Detective and I was a big fan of the Amiga - Archon, Barbarian II, Battle Chess, BoulderDash, California Games, Civilization, Deuteros, Dune, Hostages, Ikari Warriors, Indiana Jones, International Karate, It Came From The Desert, Last Ninja, Maniac Mansion, Moonstone, Pardroid 90, Pinball Dreams, Pirates, Populous, Monkey Island, Shufflepuck Cafe, Speedball 2, Starglider 2, Stunt Car Racer, Super Cars II, Super Skidmarks, Supremacy, UFO, Virus, Wings, Xenon, Zak McCracken. Had to browse through a list of games to remember some of those. There were plenty more, but those have some retro value for me.

I personally still love Defender, Bezerk...and yes even the simple enjoyment of a good ol' round of Asteroids..yep...guess I am dating myself, but I still remember vividly dropping quarters in those pesky machines back in '79-80 at the local Dale's Jr. liquor store...simple pleasures...
