[RESOLVED] Something Strange Has Happened.

I switched on my PC this morning and opened GameEx and loaded PCSX2 as well as other emulators and my official 360 wireless pad which is fully setup using Xpadder doesnt work with any emulator at all when loaded in GameEx, but my advanced config to exit any emulator using keypresses on my 360 pad still works. Really Strange. Also my 360 pad works when navigating GameEx,

It's like it stops working when the emulator boot's up.

I've checked the emulator's outside GameEx using my 360 Pad and everything is working fine.

I'll upload the relevant files when I get home later.

Have you verified that Xpadder is still being loaded up and that it's loading the correct profiles? Also, do you load up multiple controller profiles in Xpadder? I've had it happen where all of a sudden Xpadder will decide that what used to be "controller 1" will now be "controller 2" and vice versa. This usually happens after I disconnect and subsequently re-connect one of the controllers in the chain. I think they must get re-enumerated in Windows at that point, and Xpadder just carries on as usual using the "old enumeration".

A good way to test for this is to load up an emulator in GameEx that you can use Alt+Enter to change to a windowed state. After reducing the window size bring up the Xpadder GUI to see what profiles are loaded, and what Xpadder is "seeing".

If you were using the Xpadder plugin, you could consult the log and make sure it's loading properly. If you're not, why not? :-)

I'll give it a spin in an hour or so as I'm currently watching the 100 greatest cartoon's DVD with the missus.

Not using Xpadder plugin on this PC, I was on my previous PC though, I'll look into installing it tonight as I have been meaning too for a while.

I got this sorted now, I just made a new XPadder profile and deleted the old one and everything worked. I did try the tip from nP and it was loading the correct profile and I couldn't see anything wrong.

The Xpadder plugin didn't work either, maybe my profile was corrupt, I dunno

On second thoughts its not sorted, I turned my system off for an hour and then back on, loaded up GameEx and the pad doesn't work again grrrr.

Ill upload relevant files as soon as I can.

Is your controller being detected in Windows ok?

Posted

Its being detected fine, I still haven't had chance to upload my logs etc.. I was too tired last night.

Do you think its possible that swapping between my 360 controller and my Madcatz Street Fighter 4 controller could cause a conflict somehow?

Posted

Yeah I do think that's part of the issue, especially if the 360 pad is wireless.

I still haven't figured this out, but to be honest I haven't had time as I have been really busy with my job, but I am going to get this sorted tonight if it kills me.

In your troubleshooting, you might want to make sure that you do not have a 2.4 mHz wireless phone near your setup or anything else that might generate EFI and bleed into that frequency range.

I tried all solutions but to no avail,

I just uninstalled Windows 8 and Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and everything seems to be fine now, so I never did find the solution.

But resolved now I think.
