hansolo77 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Share Posted October 16, 2013 A lot of these games are really old now... just about anything MAME can successfully emulate now is at least 12 years old. The newest stuff uses different engines (Model 3, Atomiswave, Taito Type, etc). Those games still need a lot of work to get good emulation, that's why they use their own dedicated platforms rather than just MAME. MAME can do the old stuff pretty well. I'm just sad there isn't really anything NEW out there. There aren't really arcades anymore, just the occasional game room in a theater, pinball table or arcade cab in the local pizza shop, or chuck-e-cheeses/dave&busters.
