I am trying to finish up a bartop arcade build, but I am having a few problems with final configuration.

The build I am doing is meant for children; so, I do not need many of the wonderful features that GameEx provides. I already created a custom menu to cut out only what is needed but I also need the "menu bar" across the top to go away. How do I hide this? I cannot find a Setting that lets me turn this off. I even tried playing with the theme I borrowed and making it just one pixel high and wide, but it still displays.

Also, I want the weather feature to be disabled as well. Is this a setting? Does it have to be disabled in the theme? If the computer is not on the internet, will it go away?

Lastly, the cab was sitting awhile before I decided to finish it up. I put its Wifi card back in it update some software. When GameEx upgraded I got the dreaded DirectX bug which I saw in someone else's post. I found the build of GameEx that I built the machine originally with and installed it over the "updated" build. That got my GameEx working again but when I was trying to configure which keys are allowed in GameEx that configuration program died. It could be a possibility that it requires a particular revision of GameEx and I reverted back to too old of a version. Where in the INI file or whatever, is this configured because I would be more than happy to configure manually?

Thank you all for your time.

Hi Zallax - was reading this as well as your bartop submission. I can answer some of your questions as relates to the theme (Nice one, by the way! Once finished, if you desire to share with the community you can upload it here).

I already created a custom menu to cut out only what is needed but I also need the "menu bar" across the top to go away. How do I hide this?

Loaded in Theme Editor, locate the menu bar, then try clicking the "eye" for the menu bar and then save. Another thing you can try is "move" the menu bar by changing the X-Y coordinates outside of the parameters of the theme dimensions. Depending on what other features you have enabled, you may want to just disable those features you do not want touched (i,e., Change View, Logoff, Hibernate, etc.) which are easily done via Setup Wizard.

I want the weather feature to be disabled as well. Is this a setting? Does it have to be disabled in the theme? If the computer is not on the internet, will it go away?

You should be disable the Weather display within your theme under the Options where you can enable/disable Popup description, etc.

I cant remember off the top of my head but doesn't the menu bar have more than 1 piece? I'm pretty sure that it does.

If so just change the X or Y axis on each piece of the menu bar to 2000 and that should do the trick.

It's been quite a while since I've been on the Theme Editor, I'll need to take a refresher course :P

You may be thinking of the Toolbar (that appears in some themes from the top of the screen).

Yep that's it, Silly me.

I think the menu bar is Locked (The EYE icon) by default but even so if Axis X and Y are changed to 2000 the menu bar should disappear.

I never thought about simply pushing them outside of the screen boundaries. Thanks a bunch for that idea.

I just found the file custominput.ini that allowed me to turn off the left and right keys so that the top menu can no longer be accessed.

Thanks, once again, for the help. I will be able to get this thing to the kids today.
