Hi guys.

My first post here. First of all, I love PinballX. It is very easy to work with and set up and it is super fast. It scrolls through tables very quickly. Awesome!!

I thought I would share something that I don't see discussed on these forums.

I was able to get my LedWiz controlled cabinet lights to work perfectly in PInballX with a few simple additions today. This also correctly shuts down any ledwiz functions AFTER the close of pinballx (which wasn't happening before).

Here's what I did.

I copied the following files from my old HyperPin folder into the PInballX folder.

ledoff.bat

ledset.bat

ledwiz.vbs

ledwiz.xml

Then I made the following changes in the pinballx settings program..

Set the ledset.bat file to run at the program start up.

Set the ledset.bat file to run in the "launch after" settings for all of the pinball emulators.

Finally, set the ledoff.bat file to run at the program exit.

Hope this helps some of you.

Likewise I am using PinballX

Where do you get the

from?

When you say you have your ledwiz working with pinballx, what do you mean?

At the moment I only have Start & Launch set up on my lkedwiz, what do you have?

Ah, that did it :-)

Now when I launch PinX I have my Start button flashing & my Launch button on.

How do I have it so that the Launch button does not light?

I looked at the ledwiz.xml & er, couldn't figure a lot out of that!

Also on another forum re this subject is says

Yes but also lets you set defaults for Future Pinball and creates a mechanism for setting custom led configs for Future Pinball tables and Visual Pinball tables not included in ledcontrol.ini such as EM based tables.

Is this a way to get the ledwiz Start & Launch buttons working in games that don't work by default, if so any idea how???

Ahh, talking out loud now.

I was trying to open ledwiz.xml in excel which just gave me a load of numbers.

Now I have it open in notepad I can see their are editable things... :)

So from what I understand, by adjusting the code I should be able to get Medieval Madness Start & Launch buttons to work.??

I just downloaded the Fathom table.


The game was already listed in my ledcontrol.ini

I tried as is, no good so I changed to


fathoma,L88,W18 Blink,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0



fathoma, being the name of my Rom & L88, W18 Blink taken from Cactus Canyon line which does work?


Still didn't work though?

I'm guessing that you didn't set up your port assignments with the config tool and save it before generating your ini. You shouldn't have all of those zeros

I did the following, just now to double check.

Port 1 - Start Button

Port 2 - Launch Button

Table Config tab

Selected Medieval Madness

Clicked Save Changes

Clicked Generate Config

With in the new ledcontrol.ini my Fathom referance was the same?

Oh & what is ledcontrol.nofeedback.ini for?

That file is for use with hyperpin FPLaunch WIP 10. It allows you to create a night mode setting by disabling specific LEDWiz port assignments.

Basically the 2 ini files you downloaded from the config site are swapped/renamed behind the scenes in hyperpin when you toggle night mode.

I just spent an hour and a half trying to get this ledoff.bat stuff working. Whenever I tried to add it as a program to run at exit it was freezing up PinballX. I was about to come plead for a solution but I finally fixed it. So for anyone else here's what happened to me. When you run a batch file theres that stupid dialog that pops up that asks if you really want to run that program. In PinballX I finally hit alt-tab and could see the window but couldn't bring it into focus. So I manually ran the batch files from Explorer and then was able to uncheck the box. After getting that working I added the pinDMD-CLR.exe to the batch file and that's working also. At least now I know to check alt-tab next time something seems frozen. Previously I just kept hitting ctrl-alt-del and running task mgr to kill PinballX. And I kept getting left with no Taskbar unless I logged out/in.

Hi everyone and thank you for this tutorial.

By cons it does not work on my machine ... : (

I did not use hyperpin and so maybe I'm missing an element belonging to Hyperpin to work.

I'm sure I download the files copied to the folder pinballx edited the xml and changed through the various setup pinballx launches ...

And yet it is happening nothing ... not even a small error!

If someone has an idea let me know!
