Happy Independence Day! Hopefully everyone will have a safe and enjoyable 4th with friends and family.

I encourage each of you to take a few minutes to read the Declaration of Independence and reflect upon its meaning then, and how this "living document" applies even now as many in our government, our elected officials ignore the will of "We the People." Remember what it represents and let this drive your decisions in the 2014 and 2016 elections to come.

Tyrrany, despotism, obstruction and unfair application of justice - these are just a few of the things to which our American founding fathers objected when seeking to separate the colonies from the insufferable rule of King George III. No matter where you are in the world today, the grievances found in our Declaration of Independence can likely be applied. It is our duty as citizens, wherever we live, to do what we can peacefully to overturn such rule and restore our inalienable rights as bestowed upon us by our Creator to live our lives as free, yet responsible human beings.
