Yeah it can get to be a bit of a mess sometimes. Thankfully I have a pretty good repository of logos and backgrounds from a previous project I've been working on - so its not as bad. There's also some insane artists out there in the emulation community (yourself included) that've spent hours slaving away at redrawing logos in hi-res that make everything so much easier =)

Finished up every Nintendo and Sony system..

• Nintendo NES, Famicom (seperate image for Japanese games), Famicom Disk System, SNES, Super Famicom (seperate image for Japanese games), N64, Gamecube, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, Virtual Boy, Nintendo DS and Game&Watch.
• Sony PSX, PS2, PSP
• And the aforementioned themes - Sega CD, Saturn, 32x, and Main Manu.

I'll start posting previews soon-ish.

Does anyone know how GameEx deals with naming backgrounds? For example NES is "Theme_Background_Nintendo NES". Where does the naming convention of "Nintendo NES" come from (As opposed to Nintendo Entertainment System or just NES)? Is it from the emulator files? Is there a global database of these names somewhere?

Came up with a semi-clever way of adding just the time and game info (while omitting the date and game name) by hiding unwanted objects behind the dock in the foreground.

Also did some minor touch-ups to the borders and whatnot. Also lowered the dock by a lot since its now a foreground item and can't cover up the main item list.

Next up - Media bar and other small UI things. If all goes well I should be ready to release this in the next few days...

*EDIT* Just noticed the transparency on the main selector got overly green in the process and the top bar has to be moved up a bit... I'll fix it up tomorrow.

That's a great touch saterium! I'm really liking this theme. Keep up the good work.

Fixed green tint to the selector background. Resaved all the backgrounds in the dropbox to allow for the new foreground. Every background in the dropbox is now missing video and selector frame, bottom dock, and time icon. Just imagine they're there for the time being.

Changed the Daphne and Gameboy Mono to a more cleaned up version.

Updated the first post with final thumbnails.

Finished up sounds and nearly done with the popup top bar.

I'm still having some trouble figuring out the naming scheme for certain systems here despite countless forum searches. Ideally I'd like everything to be as 'automatic' as possible without the use of custom backgrounds but I'm doing a lot of guess work at names here.

For example.. The name of the NeoGeo subsection in mame appears to be "Theme_Background_SNK Neo-Geo".

What's Model 2? Atari? CPS? I've been trying to use other themes as an indication but they seem to be all over the place. Any assistant at all in this matter is greatly appreciated. It's the final major hurdle before I can release this.

*EDIT* Using the names in the Config/Emulators/Import-Export seems to yield the best results for general console names. Still trying to figure out the names of the MAME submenus though.

Current console list stands at 130. I think I've covered most of the bases here. Once the theme is released I'll see if there are any requests.

Some of these might be redundant. I don't really use the MediaCenter features on GameEx so I figured it just went ahead and made them all. Most of them are just a different title with the same background. Youtube has a unique background.

Theme is pretty much complete...Over the weekend I'll be creating media wheels for each system. If all goes well, I'll release it by Sunday =)

Little over halfway done with System Images... Commodore, Misc Portable, Misc Console and 'Software Based' and Main Menu stuff left. Getting close to wrapping this up.. heh

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand done....

Holy crap its damn near impossible to find a nice clear shot of some of those systems. Some of the rarer systems look a little choppy and blurry (Actionmax, Nuon, etc) but it was the best I could do given what's out there.

Last thing that's left is the system images for all the main menu stuff and the mame submenus. I'll be doing that tomorrow.

Theme is done, it's a 125MB file so it'll take awhile to upload. I'll have a DL link tomorrow.

I still never figured out the naming scheme so some of the media files aren't displaying correctly. For example, Neo-Geo CD picks up the Neo-Geo logo - Neo Geo Pocket Color picks up Neo Geo Pocket.. I have no idea how to fix this so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! I can, although saving each file takes a very long time to do... I'd gladly send you the photoshop file if you like, its pretty easy to figure out.
