Hey guys, this should be a simple one. I searched, but either I missed the answer or I don't know how to word the question.

I want to change the opening GameEx logo and sound, but I'm not sure how to go about that exactly. I know there's an image and sound bite it's calling somewhere within the theme folder, but I'm not sure of the location. Also, I'm not sure what are the parameters of the logo and sound, such as the file container, length, etc.

Thanks in advance!

hello dishwater63,

you will find them in your theme folder. the sound is a file called "introsound.wav", you can put here whatever sound you like, as long as it have the same name. the same goes for the "GameExLogo.png" file. just replace it with your own stuff BUT with the same name and you are good to go.

off course you need to know, which theme you are currently using and what the name of the theme is. if you dont know it, start your setupwizard and check what theme is currently used. then go to the theme folder inside your GameEx folder, and change the names accordingly. hope that helps, if not, feel free to ask ;).

good luck, u-man

Hey U-man, thanks for all the info! I'll play around with the settings tonight.

Just curious, can you do animated intros? Does it handle gifs or does it strictly have to be png?

yes.... you can use the "GameExIsLoading.png" for intro-stuff. same process, with renaming and so on. supported are mpg2 or any .avi codec supported by your system. no gif, no swf. be aware that if you have a long intro, that GameEx start loading AFTER your intro and not while playing your intro, this is the small downside ;).

also you need this to enable in your setupwizard with the "show loading screen" option.

Yeah, I do video editing on the side as a hobby, so h264 is definitely the way to go. I'll be sure to post if I whip up anything worthy. The community makes a lot of impressive stuff, I'm not sure I'll be able to compete!
