Possible to hide "MAME has stopped working" error message during screensaver?

While the GameEx MAME screensaver is playing, occasionally I get a Windows 7 error message that reads, "Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."

The bummer is it "peeks through" when the screensaver switches from game to game. When I exit GameEx, there are sometimes 5 - 10 of these alerts stacked up I have to dismiss.

Is there a way to hide these alerts?

I also have this problem. I was thinking about trying to close it programatically if I can get the window handle but that'll only be in Game Info.

I have seen this on some occasions in the past. Usually it is because MAME is trying to play a ROM that is not working. To work around the issue, I set the MAME screensaver to only play from my Favorites (which are ROMs I know that work).

I like having them all play (I have found quite a few gems I wouldn't have found otherwise this way). After 5 days straight there can be 10 or more of these. Its a minor annoyance but an annoyance none the less.

It would seem to me that the screen saver should only use games in the mamelist.txt (is that the correct file name?). I would assume that most users would have the filter for 'Only Working' set to on, and worse case scenario the problematic games could be added to the excluded list.
