GameEx has stopped working after update

Same problem here... plugged my GameEx box into the network for the first time in months and made the mistake of accepting the upgrade - working install instantly went to non-working install.

I've tried re-installing all the pre-req's from the links provided on the Downloads page - still no good.

Log file is useless as the last thing it shows is the shutdown for the automatic update.

Is there a way to download older versions of GameEx - not sure what I was running but I don't think I've updated in at least a year.

Sorry you are having problems after your update. Did you download GameEx directly from the site and run the install that way? If so, same results?

When reporting a possible GameEx bug or error, please ensure you submit a copy of your log.txt and gameex.ini file so we may quickly assist you. Please refer to this link for additional information.

Even if the log appears useless to you, we might see something you don't that will be a clue on what directions to go for resolution. Thanks!

Well... I feel dumb.

After re-installing/upgrading everything around it, re-installing GameEx probably would have been a good idea.

Fresh download and re-install of GameEx does get me back up and running.

I do get an error during install though:

C:\Program Files\GameEx\mp4demux.dll

Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3

If I ignore, the install continues and completes successfully.

I can still post logs/configs if you are interested.

You may be interested in looking here. If you are running Windows 7, you may want to run the downloaded install one more time by right-clicking on the install file and selecting Run as Administrator. It sounds like there may be an write permissions issue afoot.
