Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out steam in gameex. I've setup my login details in the Setup Wizard, but should I then see a Steam entry in the "Setup Emulator" section of the Setup Wizard? Or do I just use a wrapper and manually add an entry looking for url or lnk files? Sorry if this is answered somewhere in the forums I couldn't find it.

Merry Xmas! :)

You may want to submit a copy of your log.txt and gameex.ini file so we may quickly assist you. Please refer to this link for additional information.

Also, would be good to know if you are using the Custom Menus application. If so, you will likely need to add a new Menu Item for Steam.

Log and gameex.ini attached.

I'm not using the Custom Menu option at the moment. Most stuff I just add-in from the Wizard options of emulators and call a compiled autoit script to run a command line. Not much in my config at the moment I'm rebuilding to Windows 8.

Steam has also to be installed. With Steam Client (and at least one Game) installed the "Steam Games" will show up in "Emulated Games".

I really recommend that you disable "auto Login/Logoff" in the GameEx config, because games load much faster without it.

There is no Steam section in the emulator portion of the setup. Steam will appear in your list once you have set your username in the Steam config section of GameEx, providing both the following are true:

1) The "username" section must be your actual username, not your screen name/gamertag/handle etc but the ID you use to login to Steam.

2) You have purchased at least ONE game from the Steam store, it can be any game and while the Xmas sale is on you should be able to grab one for less than £1/$2 :)

Once both of these are true then Steam should appear in your list with all games present and from that point on you can use Steam to launch all your PC games through GameEx (use "add non-Steam game")

Hope this helps and Merry Christmas

Thanks guys that fixed it. I was installing them to another drive rather than C:. Steam now appears in the menu.
