Tom, I dont know if you took this into account, but I noticed that when I specify the N64 database function on the N64 emulator, I noticed that the BoxArt and CartScan sections disappeared. Can you make sure that they show up in your unit testing for the next release?

Also ... I think you should sticky a section where people can collaborate on creating a database for each emulator! On top of that I believe you should have filtered by multiplayer games in the MDB, since there is a field specifying how many players there are, it would be easy to impliment.

I know this post might be classified into the "enhancements section" but this definitely is a bug when it doesnt show up the old legacy box carts and cart scans when the database functionality is turned on.

Thanks for the effort on this release Tom. I am reluctant to release my DOSBox full emulator set configuration and screenshots since no know on the boards are interested in my projects. I will just keep my pimp ass gameex configuration to myself! Sorry everyone.....you will just have to deal with not having you thousands of DOSBox games integrated with screenshots in gameex. tough luck....but most people on these boards have no motivation to having a sweet setup... No one on the boards was interested in my project at all and found no value in it. So I just wont release it at all. Just me and my bro dan, will enjoy launching all DOS games from gameex with ease!

Yo Incubus158, some of us only just got here. OK until now there has been no interest in DOSbox but I be usin it myself a bit and would love to checkout your fine work.

Collaberatin on databases is also if interest to me. I have a fairly sizable collection that needs sorting and this would be perfect motivation for me to get organised.

For the record GameEx is awesome, but I only jumped on at 5.50. I liked it so much I registered sight unseen.

I've started to look back through the posts and am still on page 36 moving backwards to catch up.

If others have already begged, and you have posted, I will soon see. If not be a bro and share with someone who will appreciate your effeorts.

OK thanks kroton181. My script is running as we speak at home capturing EXEs, COMs, and BAT files that run each game as well as capturing screenshots and creating gameex map files and ini's. Currently I am through the P's and only have about 900 folders to process.

I think I just get frustrated because I am more of a programmer and expect people to be excited about programming like I do.

I have been using gameex since the 3.0 releases and it does just keep getting better and better. It makes me love videogames like I used to because I have my setup soo sweet and organized.

I will post a new thread when my DOS thing is ready with 2300 games integrated.

I'm excited I tell ya! I'm new to GameEx but not to the emu/pc scene. I've been mameing since the 0.3 version and playing with various emus for years. People may laugh but I actually owned an atari 800, bought it brand new in 1982 and paid a mint for it. Played every arcade / pinball game there was in the 70's before that. Did the MAC and then the Amiga upto and including the 486sx crossover boards befor finaly jumping ship to true pcs. I love this stuff and I appreciate the efforts of all the guys that are contributing to this thriving community that Tom has unknowingly put together.

headkaze check out my recent post with 200 AHK files. Try to get it working on your system. I designed it to be portable and I have a roms checker after you update each TXT with the ROM path it will tell you which ROMs are in conflict and the ones that wont run at all. Fix the error and then your exe should work.

I might even be great to use outside gameex. Maybe have a shortcut link on your desktop that will play some of your top favorites!

Let me know if you get it working. You shouldnt have a problem. Its pretty neat.

I still have a lot of work to do on the DOS stuff. Maybe 30 % of screenshots arent good at all. So I am going to get the images off of the-underdogs.org.

Did you check out my SNES database yet? Gameex doesnt seem to like it for some reason and Tom hasnt posted yet.

I am sure oyu are busy with the theme editor!

400 folders left to go in my screenshot dos game archive thing.

After that, I will be more testing out all the EXEs to make sure that my program chose the right one, as well as updating each screenshot if there is a bad SS taken.

There still will be some bugs and it wont be entirely perfect, but its at least a start! People can modify the HUGE map file with any needed changes.

The one thing I just realized that I didnt impliment in the script is the ability for a report that will tell me which folders it skipped entirely without cataloging a map file or a EXE. This will result in an imperfect set. Oh well. A few missing. Another thing bad about the DOS collection is the "DOSBOX" header that is part of the screenshot. In theory I would want an automatic cropper to parse this out so you dont see it. I will do some more research.

Let me know if you want to help edit the file. Night? I know you are a taker and down for some testing before I release it? It is soo easy to setup.
