downloading new version

If I download the new version (5.72) will it overwrite my 5.70 settings? If so, should I just backup the config.ini file?

also - what happens when I make the "donation" to get rid of the start up screen? Do I get a new location to download, or is there a file you send to get rid of it? Just wondering that if I make a donation, does that apply to all future releases of GameEx, or just the current one?!

hi, i can tell you all i know. i hope that i don't tell you some wrong information. i my case all the configs were kept, but it's still better to make a backup before. when you make donation you will receive a license file for gameex and this will work for future versions too.

everytime i've updated gameex, it's saved all my information for config's, game lists, what theme is currently being used, etc. it's nice and easy. all you need to do to update is download the newest version and install it. there's no need to uninstal the previous version. it is, however, a good idea to backup your stuff.

with the donations: you can use the regular downloaded version. there is not a special one. along with the nag screen going away, you get some of the newer features like gameextender.
