If I download the new version (5.72) will it overwrite my 5.70 settings? If so, should I just backup the config.ini file? thank you also - what happens when I make the "donation" to get rid of the start up screen? Do I get a new location to download, or is there a file you send to get rid of it? Just wondering that if I make a donation, does that apply to all future releases of GameEx, or just the current one?! (sorry for all the questions!!!)

lol! ... that'd be it then! Only problem is that I cannot find that option anywhere! Is there a setting in config somewhere that lets you create the snap shots? I have tried changing the theme also with no luck... :S

hi - I think I am missing something - I understand from reading documentation on this site that I can create a set of "snaps" ? I've set up the snap folders in each emulators folder, but I dont know where the actual program or option to create the snapshots is!! probably a "cant see the wood for the trees" thing!! Thanks for any help!

Not sure this is the right place for a post like this, but there are no other forum sections! (I'd be easier if the gameEx forum had other sections like troubleshooting, cabinets, etc etc...) I was wondering what people use to finish their cabinets off? I am currently designing a cocktail style one from scratch - I've got the "guts" working with gameEx now - it's all gravy! Just designing the cabinet and I dont know what type of finish to give it. I'd like it to be primarily black I think - but painted MDF can look naff! I've seen people putting plexiglass, formica, lacquer etc etc... but I am unsure which would be the best - and easiest to do! any ideas?! thanks

Hi, ive just made a few custom PNG images... i assumed if I saved it with a transparent background it'd look ok... but it doesnt look right... How does the transparent imaging work? Should I save it with a black background? Cheers.. Matt.

that is the entire log!! windows is ok - i pinned it down to the graphics card... so popped another one in and it all seems ok now!

hi again! When i load gameEx its all running nicely... when I exit it, then try to load it again, I get the following error (from the log) 16:19:30.0 21/02/2002: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 16:19:30.1 21/02/2002: ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING to get it working i have to restart the PC.. its not a massive problem, but I thouught I'd post about it anyway

I've just noticed you have a new version available - I've downloaded that and it loads fine now!! As a result, I no longer have the log files for showing the errors... but I remember that last entry in it was something like hide toolbar if that helps? this is a really great bit of software Tom - excellent work - on another note, when I "press 1" to goto the donate page from within the software, it shows that the security certificate has expired or something! Mabye I'd be good to go to a page on your site with more info about donating, then offer the link? Just a thought!

hi - when I load gameEx - it reboots the PC! I see the welcome screen for about 1 second, then it just reboots......I've gone through pretty much all the configuration pages trying to see why this happens - but I cannot find why! I have windows XP Pro mame32 any ideas what might be causing it? I'm really keen to get this working as it looks a brilliant tool! thanks
