Hi.

I created a PC for use with GameEx.

I installed Windows XP and I have disabled almost all processes, only essential (15) and I installed the avi codec pack.

I work with GameEx everything right, except that it not play videos avisnaps mng, although that play sounds. Nothing appears, mng, PNG snaps... but play mp3.

Do I have to install any software to work?

Do I have to enable a Windows XP service?

Do I have to install a windows program that has been disabled?

Thanks and I hope your help.

Hi - not sure about your codec pack. I would recommend installing the Shark007 codec pack as it is one of the most reliable that many of us use here in the forum.

I would also make sure you have the latest video drivers installed and latest DirectX version that is available for your operating system.

Telling us a little more about the system upon which you are running GameEx may be of help as well.

GameEx has in built support for playing MNG and I am not aware of any special requirements. It shouldn't need codecs or services enabled as far as I am aware. I just tested and they work fine for me. Perhaps try the default theme if not already.

Also judging by your log you have not even set GameEx up to play any video or MNG files. You need to have the files for them to play. You then need to tell GameEx where they are.

Hello.

I'm using the default theme and I also got the videos with the mp3 in a folder and I set to GameEx.

I have another computer with Windows 7, and with exactly the same settings, I can see the videos, but on a PC with Windows XP will not let me.

Draco1962, i go to install last Directx and tell you...

Any more suggestions?

Thank you very much for your help and are very friendly.

Solved.

It was the most stupid solution. I reinstalled the drivers for the graphics card and it worked :o

Thank you... and sorry for the inconvenience.

Not a problem! Sometimes the "easy" solution is not so when there is so much to look for. Welcome to the forums!
