Just wanted to introduce myself as I am looking to replace my existing front-end structure for my upcoming cab project (or rather, putting a new pc together back in my old cab) and I am thinking about using GameEx.

For those that don't know me, I am a former member of the HyperSpin team, and the inventor/creator of Hyperion which was later renamed to HyperList (and now under the ownership of the HyperSpin team). I also authored the BetaBrite addon for HyperList 0.8.0.1 (before HyperBrite was created).

I am currently looking to see what GameEx has to offer and whether or not it fills my needs and hopefully grow from there!

Wow! Welcome Lashek! Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. As you may know we've got a number of members here who split their time between HyperSpin and GameEx (Brian Hoffman being one of our more prominent). Some of the strongest players are switch hitters! I think you'll really enjoy digging into GameEx (if only for a change of scenery and approach). Feel free to ask any questions you may have (although I have a feeling we could probably learn a few tricks from you as well!).

Greeting Lashek! I love the HyperList rom sets so a big thanks for creating those. I'm always keeping an eye to see if any new dats appear so I can convert all my sets.

While I would love to take credit for this, I must give credit where it is due. HyperList would be nothing without my team that was (and still is) maintaining it. djvj, brolly (took over keeping MAME updated for me), SophT, BadBoyBill, and even Circo in some cases. At most, I can take credit for creating a system that reads No-Intro DAT's, XML's, raw file lists, and ClrMamePro DAT's then stores them in a database for easy maintenance while providing an easy to use interface.

Unfortunately, that system now lies dormant as I am/was the sole developer and I have left that team/project due to moral disagreements with other HS team members.

However, I'd be happy to assist where I can and provide my experience and knowledge where applicable!

Welcome, Lashek! As you will see, we are going through a bit of a renaissance here in the forums and welcome any contributions whether artistic or technical. Fall-outs happen for one reason or another and we have had our share. Hopefully you will find our forums a safe-haven and welcome place to land.

As the author, just wanted to chip in and say thanks for giving GameEx a try. We are all part of the same community as a whole. Ive even worked on things with members of the hyperspin team indirectly. So please don't feel you have to be loyal to one particular front end or anything like that and welcome. EDIT: I realise the post is a little late!

I'm still getting things situated here to install GameEx, but I'm getting quite anxious as I haven't been able to touch my cabinet in a very long time.
