[RESOLVED] only showing 90 out of 6000

Well iv spent the last 3 nights attempting to set up my pc ready for the cabinet (which is half built)

I had a breakthru last night after coming across gameex frontend i managed to get it all working.

I have just joined the forum on my phone and will spend some time this evening browsing and reading to get the knowledge i need but as im at work i thought theres no harm posting the issue i encountered last night.

Everything loaded up fine but when i went to flick thru my games its only displaying the games which begin with a number or the letter A, have i made a newb mistake or is it something a little more complex!

Hopefully someone can help and i think im gonna enjoy getting into this :-)

Can't help but notice that you aren't updated to the latest GameEx version (11.64 vs. 12.83 the current version - heartily recommend an upgrade!). That being said, have you run the update in GameEx under MAME?

I did the game update/ rom list update and it said it found all 6000 ish but it only displays 89 roms on the game list.

Ill get the latest version later and see what happens

Maybe you have verify turned on and your ROMs aren't passing that check?

Your sets match your MAME version, right?

All or at least most of the roms work when playing straight with mame32

So i dont think mame is the issue, its just weird how its only displaying the numbered and the ones starting with A.

Will upgrade to latest software this afternoon and see how it goes, will also post some pics of the how the cabinet is coming along too

If I remember it correctly, there was a bug of this kind in an old version of GameEx... readily fixed by Tom. It would be strange if it were exactly 11.64, but trying the latest version would definitely be your next move, pugme.

I am 99.99% certain this is not a bug in the current release and is due to an old version being used so am marking as resolved.
