Hi all!!

I'm having problems with my Sega Genesis video snaps. The problem is, when i'm in the all emulators list, if i select Sega Genesis i can see the preview of a random game with video preview, but if i enter to the Sega Genesis list games i can only see the snap preview of each game (not video showing).

I think is a problem of latest Gameex release because i can see the video previews of that emulator before.

It only happens on that emulator. All the rest of emulators video previews works fine.

Thanks!!!!

Hmm, I'm not seeing a problem with any of my video snaps. Can you post your GameEx ini and the emulator ini?

The GameEx ini is located in GameEx's install folder under the DATA subfolder. That will do for now. :)

According to your INI you haven't set the Video path.

Open Setup Wizard, select Custom, Emulator Settings.

In the pulldown menu go to Emulator 4: Megadrive and set up the Video Snap Path.

Hi Adultery i configured the video path with the setup wizard but still not working.

I have 2 comments:

1 - Translations on setup wizard for spanish language are horrible. Can i translate it for a better comprension?

2 - I have both snap and videos on the same folder. There is any problem with it?

Another question is.... there is no separate configuration for sanp and video folder on Advanced configuation Gameex (this is what i used to configure my emulators).

Advanced Configuration is no longer used or maintained. You need to use Setup Wizard instead. Having them in the same folder should be fine as long as you set it up like I told you earlier in Setup Wizard. If you do have issues try putting the vids in a different directory.

Yes you can re-translate the settings to your language but you will have to PM Tom or Headkaze about that.

I tried to put videos in another folder and still not working... :(

The most curious is i can see the Sega Genesis videos on the emultaros list if i select sega genesis emulator. I can see all the videos everytime i'm on the name of Sega Genesis emulator in emulators list. It's very strange...

Can you post your GameEx log?

Ok i think the problem is solved now.

I del all the snaps from snap folder. I entered Gameex and videos are showing now. Gameex re-download all the snaps another time from emumovies. I don't know what was the problem but it seems to works fine now.

Thank you adultery

Edit: i re-entered Gameex and problem is again. I only see the snap preview not video.

I think is a problem of downloaded data from emumovies or something. I remember i can see the videos before this release. If I delete the snaps videos works ok, when i put the snaps or auto-download from emumovies videos didn't show.

I still can seeing it on all emulators list preview if i'm on the Geneis emulator, but not inside it.

OK!

Disable the automatic artwork downloader in GameEx Setup Wizard and remove the snaps from that folder again. Home free. :)

Hi Adultery!!!

It probably works, but for me is interesting to download the artwork for my emulators. If i disable artwork donloader in Gameex setup wizard i can't get the other artwork. Another solution???

I think it's a strange "bug" because it not happen for the other emulators.

Normally Gameex have priority for the video snap instead photo snap, but in this case it not works.

Maybe Tom need to see it.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Ok the problem is happening in all my systems. I can see the rpoblem is with videos in .avi format. If the video snap is in .avi format and there is a photo snap of that game, Gameex show the photo snap instead the video snap.

Please Tom, can you confirm that? Thank you!!!

I think I know what is happening. GameEx cannot find an exact filename match for the video, so then it tries exact file name match for a snap and finds it because the downlader has put it there.. It will only try to search for a differently named video file after that and its not happening. The solution will be to match the video snap filenames to your game file names.

I believe that Tempest's Skinny Match (Check the User Projects Forum for this and other great plugins and apps from our users) would be the first tool I would recommend. You may find that you will need to edit a few file names manually, but it is a tool that I swear by and have never had to swear at.
