I have this problem it's nothing too serious but it must have shown up somewhere in the 12.5x or earlier builds. When I start GameEx and go to my favorites first, they only partially load leaving only about half of my entries. If I go to an emulator page first then favorites it doesn't happen.

What I've been doing to counteract it at startup is first going to favorites then quickly exiting back to the start page then going back again and they all load fine. It's as if the other systems database wont load fully until prompted.

I've tried installing GameEx from scratch only copying over the config and it has persisted. I've posted my log if it helps any.

TG -sorry you are having an issue. Can you reattach your log.txt file and also provide a copy of your gameex.ini file? Thanks!

It's hard to narrow down an emulator because they all load but certain games in each emulator don't show up. I have several nes, snes n64 etc games that don't show while others do. It gets immediately resolved when I back out to Start and then go back in Favorites and they all load correctly the second time.

What I notice happening on the first load is that the games are ordered not alphabetically by name as a whole but listed and grouped by emulator. First it loads all the MAME games, then Gameboy then NES, SNES basically the order of my emulators in my config file starting with MAME then the rest. Ive enclosed a pic of it happening.

Worked great the first time. I saw all the databases load on startup which instantly made all the favorites appear complete. I usually know all of the little tricks for GameEx but it's mainly when someone else would use it and be confused. It started when I'd tell them x game is in my favorites and it didn't appear when they went to look for it. This solved it thanks again!

Well, the startup was longer as was to be expected, but personally I don't mind. I prefer slow and stable rather than fast and buggy. I havent tested it with the quick resume feature and idk if it would make a difference in the caching or whatever.

As you add more emulators I can see the scaling being noticeable especially for the people with 30+ emulators. If it were a feature to implement I'd recommend a manual setting which could allow the user to set how many and which specific emulators to load on startup at once. If you only have 3-6 you could load them all, but if more, perhaps the user would like to set the max to only 6-8 on startup or maybe use some kind of priority function that could be assigned to the number of most used emulators dynamically to be allowed at startup, like if you only use 5 out of the 20, then those 5 would always be loaded first.

It reminds me a lot of windows start menu program shortcuts. The most recently used (MRU) ones get placed at the top and others trickle down based upon usage.

Works great again. I noticed the databases loading after startup this time or when I first selected favorites which makes the delay nonexistent on start. Whatever you did it works.

I was with the same problem just with the Snes section.

I will try the new GameEx version and then report my findings.
