KRC
Track & Field events are the better part of the Olympics IMO.More exciting to watch because of them being fast paced.
Bigby
It's been an amazing night for British Athletics and a great day for the Olympics!Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford did us proud!
KRC
They all dominated their events, well proud of Team GB
hansolo77
Just throwing this out there... did anybody catch the closing ceremony? My favorite part was Brian May from Queen doing his like 5 minute intro riff to We Will Rock You. And to top it off, he's a fricken Astrophysist! KRC
Han,I watched most of the closing ceremony, well proud of some of the acts like The Who, Brian May, etc...But ffs why did they have to put The Spice Girls on the roster, I mean yeah they were ok in the late 90's ( ) but thats about it.I know its supposed to be best of british but i'm pretty sure there are alot of better acts that could have performed, even my Mrs was rocking out to My Generation by The Who, The only reason she likes The Who is because of CSI. (She's a huge CSI fanatic.)
hansolo77
Yeah, I guess the big thing was that the Spice Girls ARE like really popular in England, and that it was their reunion since 2008 or something. I agree though, didn't NEED to have them there. Same with people like Jessie J. Sure she's hot, but she kinda ruined Queen's song in my opinion. I would have liked to see more stuff like Rolling Stones instead of rappers. And sure, its the 21st century, but I don't wanna see all these athletes sporting smartphones, tablets, etc when they're not working and yet can afford all this nice stuff on sponsorship; it sends the wrong image of what athletes are doing. KRC
I was going to mention Jessie J, She should have stuck to her own stuff rather than stepping in on someone else's material, I do hate it when people do that. The only time I saw a decent stand-in was when Paul Rodgers of FREE stepped in for the obviously missing Freddie Mercury at a concert and I think did a great job, and it was cool when Bohemian Rhapsody was due to come on and an old video came on the big screen showing Mercury singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Adultery
Don't hate on the Spice Girls. Their reunion just for closing ceremonies was a huge deal. They haven't been in the same place since 2006.I really dug Norman Cook though. Hard to believe he still Pwn'd although he's like 100!It was a great Olympics (and yes, Brian May was and is still as gay as ever). Can't wait til Rio! Draco1962
I just hope Rio does a better show than they did at the close of the 2012 Olympics. I mean, WTF where those chicks wearing? Looked like neon conestoga wagon wheels landed on their heads! The only thing I got from the whole production was Pele.
Adultery
Yeah they definitely kept the shitty lighting effects running. I've seen better light displays on glow sticks at raves. Sober! Lol!
hansolo77
I'd just like to know who that brunette was at the start of the Rio intro. She's mega hot! Also, Pele was pretty cool, kinda like seeing Muhammad Ali. I just hope that for the 2016 opening they don't have Tiger Woods show up because golf is coming back to the olympics.
