Why does Mame Emu Map always pop up on starting GameEx?

Hi Sven, I am the developer of GameEx. Unfortunatly that does not say it all to help me fix your issue. Could you please post your log file and let me know more about how it pops up or what it looks like?

thanks for the fast reply.

I hope my problem is no big deal for you.

I doubleklick on "GameEx" and the screen gets into fullscreen, for a short second the GameEx Logo appears but then i'm back to the desktop and an new window opens (MameEmuMap Magician).

The GameEx program ist still running in the taskbar and i can open it.

I don't really know what that tool does. I already hit the save configuration button but it appears the next GameEx start again.

Seems mame mapping magician is set to run in setup somewhere. I would look for that command-line in setup wizard and then remove it.

I found in MAME Settings, the Mame Exe leads to "Mame Mapping Magician.exe".

I changed it to "D:\Emulators\MAME\mame.exe" but on the next start the Magician showed up again. (

After that i checked the setup and it shows under MAME Settings the "Mame Mapping Magician.exe" once again.

Very strange.

Try editing the gameex.ini file directly. It has the appearance of an admin rights issue on your drive that is keeping you Setup Wizard from overwriting the changes. You may want to edit the properties for setupwizard.exe to Run as Administrator.

Problem solved. Thank you.

Maybe i should buy some glasses.

In the configuration for MAME i missed an entry that points to a directory that doesn't exists.

So every time i start GameEx it will overwrite the gameex.ini to bring up that magician.
