Instant Sheller NOT WORKING WITH 5.53

Instant Sheller was working fine with 5.40, now with 5.53 it just boots me into my "my documents" folder.

Ideas?

Not sure right now, sorry, but I don't think its due to the upgrade must be something else. Instant Sheller is working fine for me with the latest version.

I guess try setting it up again, and check nothing else is starting up with windows.

I've tried it about 10 times. Nothing else is starting in Windows.

Could you be missing some quotes around a path name containing spaces somewhere? So it's opening a folder instead of executing a program.

Can you run regedit (Start->Run->"regedit") and browse to the following key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Look for a key called Shell. Can you tell us the string value for that key? It should be "C:\Program Files\GameEx\GameEx.exe".

By the way if you havn't got the desktop running, then press CTRL-ALT-DEL select "Task Manager", then File->New Task (Run...) and type "explorer.exe", that will get you back to the desktop.

If you want to disable running an alternate shell from start up delete the Shell key above. At least this will get your PC back to normal operation until you figure out whats going wrong.
