[RESOLVED] XPadder Plugin minimizes screen

Now that I'm done with my last problem, its on to solving this one.

When the XPadder plugin is active (checked), every time a game is loaded, GameEx instantly minimises and wont load the game untill you maximise GameEx.

This doesn't happen when the plugin is unchecked.

I really like the plugin and I want to use it but if I cant figure out this problem then I'll have to go back to manual launch befores and launch afters and we know that this can be tedius.

I have ruled out (for me anyways) that it's theme related as I tried a few of the defaults and the problem persists. Also ruled out the ambience (but that was a longshot).

What logs should I post that might help point me in a direction?

Adultery will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that there is a log file generated when the Xpadder plugin is initiated.(under the \gameex\log\ path if my recall is correct). I would upload that along with your emulator config if you are not able to determine from viewing the logs why this is occurring.

Did you try my suggestion in your other thread? XP has a reg setting to keep programs from stealing focus.

This doesn't happen to me at all. If its not the focus stealing thing well try some other things. Does Xpadder start in the windows toolbar next to GameEx? You can try changing the Xpadder setting to make it stop creating a window.

Ok I missed that post on the old topic. I will try the link you provided to see if that gives any answers.

So I tried that site, and my PC was already set to the settings it suggested I do to the registry. Also, I dont get the XPadder window popping up in front of me, I just see the desktop as I left it.

It's not finding the EXE? Xpadder is loading right? Can you see the xpadder icon in the system tray?

Are you sure you're pointed at the right profiles?

Can you post the GameEx log too please?

Yes XPadder is loading all of the profiles without problem.

When you ask if Im pointed at the wrong profiles, you mean all the ones I programmed into XPadder and put into the plugin? Yeah those are all correct. I get no problems with the load. Just the minimising.

Where is the plugin looking for XPadder profiles and the EXE? How would I change that to look where its currently located?

You set that up yourself in cfg. I'm just throwing stuff out there because the error is in the argument according to the log (which is basically the path to the profile followed by /m to minimize it)

I don't have it in front of me ATM, but we'll figure this out.

Every emulator slot has its own custom controls. So each fan game and emulator takes up a slot. And this problem happens with all games, Emulators and Individuals included.

OK. Can you please try this one and post the Xpadder Plugin log if it doesn't work? Unzip this file to the GameEx directory. I suspect it has something to do with the error in the Xpadder log.

I'll turn on the debug option if it doesn't and figure this out. If you wanted to speed up the diagnosis you could post the settings.xml in the GameEx\Plugins\Xpadder\Config folder (open it in notepad and copy the contents if you don't want to zip it and attach it).

So I have Xpadder installed on my desktop. Where should I move it to to make the plugin connect?

Try putting it in c:\xpadder but I don't think that'll make any difference.

Its doing exactly what it should and I don't know what to do about this to be honest.

I'll try something else though.

Crap I just had a thought! Can you please post your Xpadder settings file for me? (It's called Xpadder.ini - You'll have to open it in notepad and paste it here)

Ok here might be a useful peice of information. I moved the exe and reassigned all of the commands. the problem still happened. But then i moved everything back, but didnt change where the pluging was looking for xpadder. I loaded a game with the plugin enabled and it did not minimise. but it did not load my profiles either. so I think it has to do with loading the exe

Change AutoProfile2Activated to 0 and remove xpadder.exe from AutoProfile2Watch then save it and try it again.
