Setup Help

Hi there been building my first cab and its nearly done all i have to do is attach teh PC ..

I was directed to Gameex as a front end for the cab as i wanted a good looking easy to use GUI for mame and it has the added benefit of playing other emulators music vid etc

here is the isue i am absolute toilet with programmes . ive downloaded Game ex and enabled the mame function and it looks great. but when i enter Rom filepath

C:\Roms its not reading them .. what am i doing wrong proberbly somthing realy simple but its doing my head in .. Help please as i could be playing Golden axe on my arcade machine by tonight she is done appart from loading up dedicated PC .

BTW im running Mame 32 with about 600 roms saved to hard disk (Someone burned this to CD and i just opend up and got on with it)

I had the same problem, turns out it was the version of MAME i was using. Try the following:

- First make sure you select Update List, if this works then your set, if it doesnt work

- Download the latest version of MAME from here http://mirrors.xmission.com/mame/main/mame0104b.zip

- Make sure you update all you configs to reflect the correct path/file names

- Open up Gamex and select Update List again

As i said, same problem with me, after doing the above it worked fine.

Read through the boards..all the folks here are extremely helpful!! Remember, we all started from the beginning too!
