I knoticed that the XPadder plugin does not like the last emulator profile on your list. Seems it crashes everytime I try to save the profile selection.

But as soon as I made a new one, the new one crashed and the old one that was crashing saved just fine.

Thus I have concluded that it only happens to the last emulator profile on your list.

My workaround is to make a dummy profile at the end of the list.

What's the last emulator on your list say in the combobox? Its probably some dumb syntax error. Can you reproduce the crash and post the log from the PLUGINS/Xpadder folder?

You say it loads fine but crashes when you save it? Sounds like maybe an illegal entry in the XML writer and that emulator just happens to be last alphabetically. Either way Ill fix it.

Game specific settings?

Of couse when I get on the arcade machine to recreate the problem, it doesn't happen.

But I do have another problem with this plugin. Seems when I have it activated, it minimises gamex without loading my games, until I maximise GameEx. Then the game will load.

This issue happens with all emulators and fan games.

This happens to Bigby too for some reason. Are you by chance using Windows 7 64-bit? I just can't figure out why this isn't happening to me (No programs are supposed to steal focus in W7 ever).

PS: Try the new beta I uploaded. You may need to tweak your Xpadder settings some too... I can't fix this if I can't reproduce it. :(

My arcade machine is XP 32 bit. And that was my first solution to try, after that problem happened, I just installed the beta, and it still happened, so I posted this. When I turn off the plugin, the problem does not persist.

I'm also not sure what settings to tweek in XPadder.

Can you post my log instead of JIT?

Posted

I figured out last night what causes that error, if my emulator name starts with a number that error message will show up. Where would I find the log when I get that error message?

It'd be better to grab my log from gameex/plugins/xpadder/xpadder.log

Shouldn't be any reason why numbers wouldn't work. The JIT error is saying that the node set has an error and can't be created (prob due to an illegal char). Is there punctuation on the titletext (ie : or / or <>)?

There were no other characters, The emulator name was "1 player fan games". Once i changed the name to something that didnt start with a number it would save with no issue. Id set another emulator profile with the "1 player fan games" and it would happen again. Once I changed it to "One player fan games", it worked with no problems. I'll post the log tomorrow when i wake up.

No you are correct. Node names can't start with a number. I'll have to add an extra char to the beginning in these cases. I'll have a new beta out soon.

Thanks for the report. :)
