GAMEEX is fecking amazing well worth the £15 !

pissed about on hyperspin , was good but hit a wall with editing fecking text files to build up my database of games.

I use GAMEEX to frontend alot of pc and dos emulated games and love how flexable it is . Database works like a charm and love how you can click on year / publisher etc to show all games in your collection of the same type.

One thing which I cannot work out is seires . I have been filling it in for my games but cannot find how to add series as an option to the gameex menu. ELP!

Only thing i find hard with gameex is the theme editor . Is there anyway of displaying box / snap / cart + video at the same time ? end result you select a game and on the screen is 4 boxes showing video , box , cart and snap.

(First post ever flame resistant jacket is on )

welcome to the game-ex forum and the funny community :) ,

your first post remembers me of my reasons why i am here. it is nearly exact the same story :D .

too keep it short, regarding the theme-editor.... sadly, no you cant :( .

in my eyes it is the only fallback for game-ex comparing to some other frontends. i wish i could tell you other things, but sorry bad news.

try to suggest a new feature request here:

and MAYBE our prayers will be heard

Welcome to the GameEx forums! The functionality is not there for displaying all snaps types at once. This is not, as u-man suggested, a failing or limitation of Theme Editor, but a limitation within GameEx itself as to how many images can be simultaneously displayed. He is correct in suggesting that you can submit a request for such a view via the Features and Enhancements requests thread to which he provided the link.

Theme Editor is a basic skinning editor. As with anything, the more suggestions and contributions to the community, the more likely we will continue to see improvements. Many of us perform the majority of our theme building using such tools as Paint, GIMP, or PhotoShop to actually create and modify the graphics you see in the background and foreground elements, logo snaps, etc. and rely upon Theme Editor as a means of placing the various functional elements to display the images and text relative to where we want them within the background and foreground images created.

thats cool not a big deal. I tend to put "back of box" art in the snap folder so would be a cool effect.

Main thing i would like is series link option on the menu . Is it possible as its a data tab in the access database files as standard?

I am not to sure about the "Series" issue. A little more information as to what you are attempting to achieve might be in order.

Does Nintendo NES have series info in it? I think that's a MAME thing unfortunately, and that's a feature request to add it to the DB (great idea though for sure)!

Tom listens, and lurks. That request isn't unreasonable at all! ;)

PS: Ditch the flame jacket. We're not gonna torch ya. We run a much looser forum over here. :)

for example I have a DB for PC point click adventure games with all the simon the sorcerer games on and working in the series tab I have them all set to "simon the sorcerer"

I Have another DB for PC Pinball games inside which i have simon the sorcerer pinball .

Would be cool when using Gameex I can click on series when playing simon pinball for example and It will then give me a mini-list of all simon the sorcerer games . Same deal i have all the C&C games working like a charm but renergade is in my PC FPS database and the other games in RTS
