Hello community,

i found a few bugs regarding the theme-editor and game-ex.

1.) it seems that it happen only with video-snaps (i use .mp4). if you choose a game with some info and recommended games and you scroll the way down and then up again, the videosnap of your choosen game is displayed much smaller (i would say in original size, as i use to display it in 200% scale). as you scroll up, it will get back to the intended size at some point (or line ;)).

2.) if you choose "italic" as a font-style, clipping will occur at least on the weather icon degree font and on the field when you scroll a list and press a letter (i.e. you want to jump from A to P). i used the LCD font in this case. at this point, i want to mention that the default font is used by game-ex for the weather-icon and the list-jump. so it is somehow possible to use at least three different fonts :).

see attachment.

3.) the "selected 1&2" fields are clipping (and i mean they dissappear completely) much to early if you place them to near on the bottom of the screen. i think it has to do with the fonts you choose and their maximum size you can choose for them. so even if you choose 34 as a size, game-ex will think you have choosen 72. in this case i also used the LCD font, my maximum possible placement, can you see in the attachment.

4.) normally the term "*mature*" as seen in top line of the attached pic, is filtered out and is not shown (which is good to keep it tiny), however the categorys "breakout *mature*" and "casino *mature*" is not filtered.

last words: as i am a "little" angry at the moment, i want to say that the theme-editor is better than nothing, but it is "antique" and make my hair turn grey....

basically i am forced to do workarounds and tasks which normally would be a piece of cake but are turned into really nightmares. i am at a point, where i ask myself "what the hack i am doing here? i cant be creative...."

some aspects are done in a matter, that there is no meaning and logic behind this, at least i dont see it. mostly the image 1+2 fields are to mention here. sorry for my last words, but i feel much better now....

so nobody can help me or have a good solution?

during the tests, i found out that the fields "list num", "selected line 1+2" completely disappear from screen, if you use negative values for the X coordinates or place them too close to the bottom of the screen (Y coordinates).

all other fields dont have such a behaviour, they are clipped of course, but are still shown on the screen.

can this be fixed??

A man went to the doctor complaining of a pain in his arm when he moved it a certain way. The doctor's suggestion: "Then don't move it that way!"

As you are aware, there are some limitations to the Theme Editor. Text fields are not treated the same as image fields. Don't use negative X coordinates (Horizontal) or a Y coordinate (Vertical) that causes part of the field to exceed the max vertical pixels for the background image!

but thats not true for every textfield. all other textfields like list, description, title, time, date.... dont have that behaviour. you can move AND place them everywhere on the screen, even if you place them a little out of the screen, you will see them partially.

only the fields "selected line 1+2" and "list num" dissappear completely from the screen, when their borders touches the screen edges. the selected line fields are even worse, because they dissappear even when they are close to the bottom (3 or 4 pixels).

i mentioned negative values, just to explain my problem better, as you cant enter negative values manually, only if you use the arrow-keys for placing (click on a coordinate field and use the arrow-keys).

something that works for all other textfields, could maybe work for my mentioned fields too.... in my eyes, this is a bug.

It may be you are right about it being a bug, however, since you know the behavior, you can work around it to a great degree by not placing it so close the the edge of the background dimensions, and that was the point of my response. ;)
