Sorry to hear about your craptacular day and the demise of your arcade monitor - LCD is the way to go IMHO but they are more costly in some areas for sure. The main thing is that you were alive to be a wanker as those can give a lethal shock to be sure! ;)

Once in a while you will see one of us pop-off and it is as you say. We have a passion for the hobby that runs strong and deep. You weren't the first newb to drop a note about your donation as part of your post noting a problem. I understand where Adultery was coming from as you apparently do as well and have acted likewise in the past (and may do so again - stay tuned!). I understand where you are coming from as well, so chose to ignore the post altogether to see how things shake out.

To get you started, the log file is located at c:\gameex\log\log.txt while the gameex.ini is located c:\gameex\config\gameex.ini (assuming you installed GameEx to the root directory).

Welcome to the GameEx forums where the passion for emulation runs deep and the shared knowledge is second to none!

It is obvious that if Mamewah was the bee's F'ing knees and did all that you wanted it to you wouldn't have given GameEx a shot. (Did I really just put F'ing between a pre-modifying noun with -s genitive and an object in a post? I do speak Australian! :P )

But you did, and I don't think you will regret it. On my signature there are links to several threads from several "experts" on the frontend that will help guide you through troubleshooting any errors you may encounter.

Hey thanks for that! Well i tryed somthing diffirent this time and under mame settings used mame32 instead of mame and it worked perfectly....

Which leads me to another question.

If i install mame mame32 etc

Does gameex select the best emulator or do i need to go under emulator section and select it from there.

Guessing its the second one but herea to hoping! Will post my cab up soon guys for you all to see im sure it will toss some ideas intoplay.

As its very unique.

It has modular namco recoil guns i custom fitted

Will write a how to on it as my project nears completion

GameEx will generally download and install the most recent build of MAME if selected. Before GameEx, I started with the MAMEUI builds as I felt more comfortable using the GUI instead of command line options & modifying .ini file directly and use it to this day and it runs fine for me.

As you become more familiar, you will learn how to update your ROM sets to the latest build specs, maybe even compiling your own to include special feature sets that allow for removing the nag screens that sometimes show due to ROMs possibly not functioning properly, game score saves, etc.

There may always be some tweaks that you will have to make within GameEx to tell it where your ROMs, snaps, etc. are stored if different than the default paths. I usually set all of that up and test within my emulator first and, once satisfied, make sure that GameEx is setup properly and try it there.

No frontend is going to be perfect and, often, the emulator programmer(s) will make some sort of change that will require changes to be made to compensate - by the user or by the GameEx programmers when appropriate.

kool, having a play around with everything atm,

been building the controll board for my arcade recoil guns, have a set of namco.

The are modular once i get my new arcade monitor ...... well then i shall upload some pics.

Its an Original cab i am restoring it was a Karnov 1987 came from the states was imported to Australia in the 90's

The replacement monitor will be the same as before a WG-k7000

Its a hell of a build. it has a 5.2ghz dual core cpu in it 775 on air Intel Xenon and in an Asus rampage formula x48 4gig of ddr2 1044 about to upgrade it to 8gb and am currently working out if i should go with the Arcade VGA from Ultimarc or get something more powerful.

Anyone know anything about the Performance Enhanced RV630 512Mb Version

is it worth getting?

Will make a new thread about it as i am looking at getting one monday.

Are you trying to run a space ship with that thing? :)

haha no, it runs gauntlet legends at full speed and that was the intention with no crashes :).

Also i wanna play new games on it like Fear 2 using my Namco Recoil guns as the mouse and the joystick to move.

I will be uploading my build as it nears completion it will not disapoint i am sure.
