I have had a similar problem in the past and it is bitrate related. I recommend 44,100 Hz as the bitrate based upon experience. I have also found better luck when converting to that bitrate from an mp3 to wav than when upconverting an existing wav.

Try the attached and let me know if it works. I used the Spesoft Audio converter to convert it from wav to wav and upped the bitrate to 44,100.

I had the same problem when I was creating my theme. I didn't want to spend any more money so I tried a few freeware programs to convert my sound clips. Audacity 1.3 Beta did the trick (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). Set the Project Rate (Hz): in the bottom left corner of the program window to 44100. Drag an audio clip (mp3 or wav), edit it to the length desired, and select file then export. Make sure 16 bit wav is chosen and save your GamEx ready file.

Thanks for the pointers guys! Hacking away now....

but now I'm not getting any sound effect from any theme!!

Enable Sound Effect is set to yes in the Setup Wizard, and EnableSound=True in gameex.ini

I just switched to your EtD theme Draco and no sound effects for me, and no audio in Krackerman's RA-HD, but it was working last night!!

If one wav file is bad it will impact all sound. You will need to pull & replace one file at a time to determine which one is suspect.
