It seems that, on my system, I cannot exit Nestopia with the esc key. This works with all other emulators and programs I have set up.

I tried scouring the forums for an answer but no luck.

You're using the global hook? I have my advance emu set to use either ALT X or CTRL X (can't remember which offhand) to exit. The shortcut is in the nestopia pull down menu. Pretty sure its ALT X though.

Amazing what a little Google action might find... only took me 5 seconds to find the answer (and you were correct, Adultery)!

Thanks. With a program this expansive, some of the smaller and simpler details get to be a bit tricky to find. I do appreciate all the help everyone is giving to this NOOB. I try to find my answers in older forums and in the tutorials section before I post a topic.

No worries! If it wasn't for teh noobz I'd be pretty bored. :)

Usually, the site for the emulator itself will hold most answers to get you going. Some of the emulator forums outside of GameEx are a better bet to get the emulator working outside of GameEx first. Once working on its own, the forums here are going to be your best bet.

I have applied the fix suggested and it works. But if I am correct, GameEx has the ability to make the esc key close emulators (like it does with ZSNES). If I run it (ZSNES) outside of GameEx, esc just opens the menu, if I run it inside GameEx, esc closes it and brings me to the menu. So would this be a bug in GameEx?

Doesn't the global hook use the Avanced Configuration? As in if you set it up and apply it to use ALT+X for that emulator, wouldn't GameEx send ALT+X on exit instead of ESC when you press the ESC key? Alternatively you can change the binding in Nestopia from ALT+X to ESC if it comes to that. You shouldn't need to though...

ESC is the button Nestopia uses to show the menu bar by default.
