Hi guys I need some help with Zinc please, same problem.

I can add zincgui in the command line, when I select the rom in the gameex menu, the gui obviously pops up, roms work from here ok.

If I make that command line zinc.exe then nothing happens. Also if I run that exe in my zinc folder nothing happens.

I set this up as its own topic as the one you referenced was a RESOLVED issue from March 201. The original topic can be referenced here.

ZiNc is one of those tough ones to get figured out. Turns out that the latest build of MAME plays them and there is not really a need to use ZiNc anymore.

Thanks for the reply,

I'm using mame0145b but find that the roms are still a bit laggy. The zinc cfg's for controls etc I can get my head round as I've used these in the past on a mamewah, x in 1 that I have, but i'm new to gameex and it's command line via gameex editor

Problem seems that zinc is being used through zincgui which doesn't have a CLI. So it can not be used to run games in GameEx. ZiNc is one of those tricky emulators. Best solution is to use the integrated support instead of as a stand alone emulator as Tom does the hard work in code to make it simple to run games.

When i did have ZiNc setup up as a stand alone emulator, i was also using zincgui. Like it was pointed out no command line. Then i found ZiNcCab and it made all the controll files and after that i used the regular zinc exe. Its been a while but i can look how exactly i had it launching when i get home.
