[RESOLVED] Downloaded Themes not Working?

Hi Guys. I am new here. I have downloaded a few themes today for GameEX. I haven't been able to get any of them working. I desperately want to get the beautiful Space Invaders Theme to work. The default themes mostly seem to work...Although I think some aren't?

I am using the Default - RedEx - MCE1024x768 Theme at the moment. I have tried the Galaxian's theme and it seems to be working too.

I have downloaded the Space Invaders, arcade84_Dark & Default - Arcade-Classic 800x600....but they are not working?

Any help would be much appreciated

Uly - first, welcome to the forums and, second, we will need to know a little more information. What OS is installed, type of video, have you installed any codec packs, etc.

Then we will need you to install the theme (Space Invaders) that is giving you difficulty. You will need to start GameEx and when the theme stops working or errors, you will need to provide us with the log.txt file that is generated. You can find this under \gameex\log\log.txt . Additionally, please provide us with a copy of your gameex.ini file located under \gameex\config\gameex.ini .

Please attach them in your reply to this post. Once we have them we can review and provide you with suggestions on how to make it work for you.

My operating system is Win 7 64 and my Video card is Nvidia 8800 GTS. I haven't installed any codec packs for GameEx.

I am not seeing any errors in the log file from an aborted start. This is because you have the RedEX them installed - can you reinstall the Space Invaders theme as I asked previously? Next, start GameEx, let it error. Finally, obtain the logfile and upload it in reply.

Ok i did install the Invaders theme. I may have needed to shut down gameEx before posting the ini file.

I have installed again the invaders theme....I checked the ini and found this....

So for some reason when I try to install a theme it reverts to the Default - Media Center??

Next, start GameEx, let it error.

There are no errors it just doesn't display the right theme?

I have posted the new ini for you to look at as well. Hope that helps

Its because you have touch screen settings turned on as it says in the log. You need to turn it off to use other themes. The setting defaults to auto to be on if you have a touchscreen attached to your system.

Ok that worked!!!

I didn't realise that the touch screen had to be turned off for the themes to work.
